Government watchdogs, Democratic lawmakers, and pro-democracy advocates declared it a "Friday Night Massacre" for the U.S. Postal Service after news broke in a classic end-of-the-week dump that Louis DeJoy—a major GOP donor to President Donald Trump and the recently appointed Postmaster General—had issued a sweeping overhaul of the agency, including the ouster of top executives from key posts and the reshuffling of more than two dozen other officials and operational managers.

But outside critics like Walter Shaub, former head of the Office of Government Ethics and a fierce critic of Trump's behavior as president, said the latest move should be seen as nothing less than a direct effort by DeJoy to exploit his authority at the Postal Service to further the president's political interests and reelection prospects.

My advice to people is to hand deliver your ballots wherever possible, instead of mailing them.

Nothing here folks lots of presidents put their "donors" in positions after they oust people from them that were (by some party's opinion) doing a "good enough" job.
Considering how late this is in the presidency, he must have donated for the silver package at best.

Guess the honeymoon phase was long, but it crashed pretty hard, hu?

I expected more from Trump. The Charlottesville rally really got my hopes up. Now here we are coming up on three and a half years and we still haven’t had our Reichstag fire.

I think it is very smart idea considering how a lot of the Obama and Clinton appointees and hirelings from them are causing him all sorts of problems best to throw them all out now the Democrats are pushing mail in voting hard.

From its inception the United States Post Office has been a hotbed of patronage appointments right from the Postmaster General right on down to the humblest mail carrier. Donald Trump has not drained the swamp, he has expanded it and deepened it with a whole raft of incompetents, fools and sometimes criminals. When you elect a clown you have to know that the circus is right behind.

Why not just make it mandatory that if you want to work in the USPS you have to be a Republican?

Why stop there? If you want to be a citizen, you have to belong to the party (Republican).

I know how you feel. I was hoping for the nukes to drop in his third year at the latest.

Instead we got a pandemic that will kill 1-2 percent of humanity, maybe 5 with all economic fallout factored in. I guess it's alright, but there's just not enough suffering. People are still going to the beach!

Good, ruin the postal service. That's one spot you missed. You only got 6 more months, better make them count.

It's been ruined and in the red forever. We have Fedex and UPS, and they can do it cheaper and better. Those companies contribute to the tax base, we the tax payer pays for US Mail.

78 Obama appointees ‘burrowed’ into career jobs, watchdog finds
Here you go.... Obama did the same 78 times.

"The Department of Homeland Security had the highest number of conversions, (nine), followed by the Department of Justice (eight).

Defense had six. Treasury had five. Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Human Services and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. each had four.

Three of the unapproved cases involved people in posts at the Education Department (a program specialist), at the Department of Health and Human Services (a senior adviser) and at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (a legislative adviser), according to a source briefed in advance on GAO’s review. In all three cases, agencies submitted materials on the conversion cases to OPM for post-appointment reviews."

Yeah, let's just get rid of US Mail and leave everything up to for profit companies.

I mean, then you'd get people who won't have any Mail coverage because they live out in the middle of nowhere where mail service wouldn't be profitable, but who cares about those?

Oh, and it's also in the constitution, but who cares about that.

And also, the US Mail is fully funded through their service charges and receives no tax payer funding, but we can just use the alternative funding to harangue them.

They also provide about 100000 jobs to veterans, but those can just go homeless and sleep under bridges.

One just needs to ignore really and your idea is really awesome.

No, they can't. Try mailing a letter using Fedex or UPS and tell us what it costs you.

Gee, what’s the cheapest that UPS or FedEx can get an envelope to every domicile in the nation?
The USPS does it for 55¢.
