  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump's Easter message.

In my job and the professional roles I've had, there has been a LOT of people in my life who are hard to love (abusive parents, awful individuals, violent, hatefilled youth etc...), I have found that TRump has been the hardest person to feel love for.

Most of these difficult people were due to some really awful circumstances for them.

Trump's entire life has been spoonfed to him and he's never really had to take responsibility for anything. The fact that he is so awful but ALSO had such an incredibly "Blessed life" (or could have had one had he, you know, not tried to rape so many teenage girls), makes it hard for me to love him.

To be clear, I have been able to feel love for individuals who HAVE raped girls (Worked with them). It's easier to love the victims too, but even them I was able to find something in them. IT's just...I can't find it with Trump.

I think part of that also is due to an intense anger and frustration I can feel for him as he has clearly poisoned so many people's understanding of their loving God.
Well, oddly enough, Trump doesn’t regularly attend Church, doesn’t ask forgiveness for his sins, and called Communion “a cracker and juice.” Not exactly an educated Christian theologian or role model.

Jesus tells us to love our enemies.

Sometimes that can be very, very hard.

Peace

It would be to JD's advantage to wait until after the start of the next term - that way, he'll serve less than half his predecessor's term which would make him eligible for two additional terms of his own.

If he chooses to run for POTUS, yes.

If he is adversarial to the will of God, as are most politicians, then his god is the Adversary.

Is he an enemy?

Is he an enemy - or someone who is probably desperately in need of Jesus that opens opportunities for prayer and worship seldom ever seen from other Presidents.

He’s in need of Jesus- like we all are. I pray for him daily and let the Holy Spirit do the heavy lifting!

Peace!

If Trump truly has Alzheimer’s or dementia I wonder what safety protocols can be done? Anyone know? Bueller?

*not diagnosing, just observing
Let's be fair. Most people with dementia are harmless. In Trump's case, his observable behavioral characteristics--narcissism, megalomania, impulsivity, anger--combined with the power of his office and considerable wealth--make it deadly. I appreciate his former supporters, MTG, Boebert, Tucker Carlson, and more, bright role models abd profiles in courage for their colleagues.

I might add, many people with dementia can’t live independently.

I’m hoping (and praying) for the best for our nation.
