Thank you.
I deleted my question about whether Catholics were amused by Mary Katherine Gallagher because it was off topic
I appreciate you response.
I had never seen that character before but I was not particularly amused.
I am interested in whether that character is popular with Catholics or what their opinion was.

I feel just the opposite. Still friends?
Certainly
I have friends who feel the opposite
I have listened to them complain about grocery and gasoline prices.
Moan about the taxes on any social security that exceeds Federal poverty level and the fact that social security is not keeping up with inflation.
Tim Walz just said his mother is on social security and she can hardly afford groceries. After 25% + inflation, no wonder.
I have heard complaints about the cost of rent and about the premiums and co-pays on health care exceeding the cost of insurance before Obama.
I hear complaints from California friends who have to go to Nevada, not for an abortion but because the hospitals in California are jampacked by our newest arrivals.
Feel however you want but please don't call me when the electricity goes out in the ice storm and the feeling is very cold after mandatory replacement of gas heat with electric.
Still friends?

That is absolutely NOT Trump's pitch. He is NOT pitching fear and hatred at all. I am sorry that you appear to believe too many lies about Donald Trump.
Do you listen to his speeches? Or does Fox News do heavy editing to try to clean them up?

Like the one Baier used eliminating the parts where Trump indicated he wanted to hail his enemies--people with different political views!!

I remember myself and some others who attended Catholic school laughing at Mary Katherine Gallagher back in the '90s. I didn't see anything amusing about the recent clip with Harris that was shown. When comedians try to advocate for politicians, it's usually the death of comedy.

SNL, like most of the entertainment and Hollywood set, are almost all lock step Democrats, and usually the extreme type. On the last Saturday Night Live, Ariana Grande was the host, and she came out and crossed her fingers during her monologue that Harris would win. In 2020, they often just skipped the jokes and just outright campaigned for Biden.

I didn't see anything amusing either but I am not Catholic. The clip gave a very negative impression of Catholics, Catholic education and Christians in general as I watched it from a non-denominational viewpoint, being one who never watched SNL

I did see an article recently by a man closely associated with SNL.

He said the SNL producers and writers had realized that "Social Justice" is promoting envy and revenge.

He said SNL was examining it's premises in light of that realization.
Maybe SLN is getting religion, aye?

That's interesting. It's clear that SNL will always lean to the left, and cater to their New York audiences who are heavily Democrat. But I have noticed in recent years they don't seem to be quite so blatant about it. I'm surprised they realize that about the "Social Justice" movement, I've always thought it mainly promotes resentment and hatred. I wouldn't have suspected them to have that much self awareness and insight, good for them.

Of course we'll be friends! :D I respect all despite differences in opinion. I'm too mature for that. ;)

I'm not offended by the 1999 Superstar movie, no.

That particular video? Meh.

I wasn’t offended by the movie but I thought it was kind of stupid. I’m not sure I even watched it all.
