I watched his D Day speech. It brought Trump's Normandy visit to mind, when he refused to get out of the car because it was raining.
Biden was respectful and reassuring to those veterans who gave their all.
Trump didn't merit a salute, huddled in his car.
Biden didn’t get any applause from the veterans when he was pushing war. Then Jill scurried him away before he greeted the veterans.

Real Clear Politics says that Trump's lead has already fallen to less than 1%, in a head to head, and he's behind if you add in other candidates. It's why he's desperately trying to avoid more trials before the election.
Are you sure about that?

You're confusing electoral votes with polls. Even with a much reduced lead, Trump would still win if the election was held today. Which is how things were, in the summer of 2020.

According to the polls, this is what the election results would look like if the election was held today. This is even after Trump's convictions.

Wouldn't he be higher in the polls then, instead of lower?
The fact that he is even a viable candidate is due to what half the country perceive as unfair prosecution. He had no chance before all the lawfare

Yes. There was a small drop in the polls for Trump immediately after his convictions. At this point in 2016, Hillary Clinton had a comfortable lead over Trump. Then the Comey report. Didn't hurt her much in the polls at first, but then...

Which isn't to say that Trump can't win. He very well might. And he's learned from the past. If there's a next time for him, there will be no pro-American officials in the Justice Department.

He's dropped about 4.5% since the trial, according to Real Clear Politics. If we get another trial before the election...

Thank you for confirming what the trials are really about. Election strategy
You've confused consequences with intent. I have seen some extreme Trump supporters claim that Trump shouldn't be accountable for his crimes because it could hurt his election campaign. But that kind of thinking is what got him indicted in the first place, wasn't it?

That is a bit naughty. The Barbarian actually wrote (#309):

Let me be generous. It was a misreading.

As for substance, it is just a fact that Trump has been hurt by the verdict last week. Those of who are against him are, naturally, encouraged. Those who still support him are whistling in the dark.

Seems obvious, doesn't it?
