That, for example, homosexual orientation is a voluntary lifestyle choice and can be recruited for. That gay marriage somehow diminishes heterosexual marriage, for another.

Of course, once we agree on what they are, but I see no warrant for a religious minority to use the government of a secular state to impose them by law on the unwilling.

This would still be the case, because myth/allegory/metaphor are not just meaningless fairy tales, but are intended to express actual truths, in this case the truth about how humanity has fallen far from the God who created it, and need to return to Him.

Actually, the latest of the Biblical texts are from the end of the 1st century, not the middle of the 3rd.
And while the label "genius" should be used very sparingly, especially about ANY politician, Obama, Trump, or other, Trump certainly is far from stupid.
