If you look over the last 100 years, how many world leaders have been Christians? The only one I could argue for is Jimmy Carter, but I would not bet my life on it. The best one could hope for is one that supports Christian values in politics. Does Trump do that? Many have claimed to be Christian and worked against Christian values. Their relationships with God are really not our business.

A lot do.

But the only basis they have for that is comparing trumps and their behaviour to other cults and cult leaders that have existed.

That doesn't seem fair.
I think the cult and worship claims are quintessential hyperbole.

Trump in no way ,shape or form remotely resembles the progressive ruler, King Cyrus.

FYI

"King Cyrus's policy was one of acceptance of all religions. Cyrus the Great was known for his military prowess, innovative governance, and a reputation for being a humane and benevolent ruler and is credited by some as a pioneer of human rights."
Trump is not half the man of Cyrus the Great, but I see a similarity in Trumps view toward religion and Israel. However, I don’t think we will ever see Trump the Great on a monument, unless he builds it himself.

Agreed. A thread titled "Trump: “I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,"" doesn't belong in the American Politics section at all in my opinion.
Sure.... to the extent that politics and Christianity dont mix in this country.

I am quite certain all presidents have
supported the views of freedom of religion and support for Israel. However, catapulting one president as a " type" of King by claiming divine intervention is quite another story.

You are correct, but I think you are reading too much into my post. It is unusual for a president to fail to proclaim his religion. Cyrus did the same. Both were under pressure to do so. I really didn’t mean to go much deeper than that.

Donald Trump was caught off guard - unable to name a single verse in the bible. Watch this - and remember.
Don't be fooled by what a speech writer can do - or a 5 minute google search in a flippant moment to appeal to a large section of his base.
Eclipsenow:

What Trump called "Two Corinthians" is usually referred to among Christians as Second Corinthians. Calling it "Two Corinthians" shows unfamiliarity, and tells us what Trump knew of the bible before anyone asked him to name a bible verse.

Daniel 2:21 argues for it.

Here's the thing: The snag some seem to have about divine intervention is assuming it shows God's favor to a particular person. But first and foremost, divine intervention is about God's will, which does not necessarily mean that it's God's endorsement of a particular person.

It looks like this thread is degenerating into another "who's a real Christian" discussion, which has no place in a political forum.

To the contrary, a Christian who is unable to discuss Jesus or what defines being a Christian in any aspect of life—whether in politics, church, or the workplace—is not truly following Jesus. Jesus states:

“Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels”

This is a political subforum within a Christian forum. It provides an opportunity for both Christians and non-Christians to debate and discuss current events that affect everyone.

However, telling Christians not to discuss Christianity in a Christian forum defeats the purpose of the forum.

I'd like to see the full context of that, because he's taken out of context all the time.
While true, I recall a Reagan-Mondale debate where what Reagan said about his religious belief strongly suggested he wasn't a Christian. There are people in the pews of every denomination who might be church members, but who have never come to Christ.

Let's face it. Christianity in America with efforts from those within Christianity America itself has become a political tool power bloc. Trump in reality is about as Christian as my gold fish, yet unlike my gold fish he understands the power that bloc yields. And honestly to hear so many Christians speak to Trump's faith leaves questioning if they understand their own faith.

Titus 2:7-8

“Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.”

Yes, the poor US Christians are free to worship for the first time after decades of persecution.
I might still be a Christian today if George W. Bush hadn't closed all of the churches after taking office. Oh, wait, that never happened. Why did I stop going then?

Insufficient religious displays on government buildings, clearly.

President Trump dialed into “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday morning and revealed his newest and truest motivation for brokering an end to the war in Ukraine: He’s worried he might not get into heaven after he dies.

“I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” he explained. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”

This is wonderful. I would be just as happy if any president in office makes this decision. It is the best thing possible for the country. I want a God fearing president. If he truly becomes Christian it will be interesting to watch him become humble haha.
Please don't be fooled.
He's laughing all the way to the bank.

Or is that the stock market when he does a famous 90 day pause on tariffs? I think Wall Street have TACO wrong. It's not that Trump always chickens out, but that Trump always cashes out. That is he talks down the stock market by talking up his tariffs and threatening the world, and then gets a bunch of mates to place bets for him as he suddenly and mysteriously announces a 90-day reprieve. There were as some fairly suspicious same day trades the one time he did that.

I'm amazed that any of his supporters actually think he might be interested in any form of religion other than worshipping his own magnificence.

Hey hatred can blind people to the point of not seeing the truth. Im not saying it is true but it could be and would hate to judge someone’s walk with God.

I'm sure Trump has done some many horrible things. That he needs to worry about. When it comes to being saved. Trump wanted to get involved, so he can claimed he stopped the war. But he didn't stop the war, so he's claiming a bunch of nonsense. To please the Christian's.
