In the traditional Missal, not the new one. :)

And that always applies to my questions, unless otherwise specified.

......... :sigh: Crud, you always catch me out.....

You'll have to bear with me for a few more days though. In the midst of one of those 'fun' gastric 'epidemics' that sweeps through the household occasionally (always an interesting event, but prolonged by the number of participants - this time 7 of the 9 possible got sick... :sigh: ), I was informed of a house inspection, to be conducted this coming Thursday, added to which my mother, who'd been admitted to hospital at the other end of the state with dehydration due to a gastric bug, had been stabilised and sent home only to start having seizures and lose conciousness, resulting in a ride in the ambulance to hospital, and a 6 hour session to get the seizures under control, but thankfully she's back home again today.

So when I get a chance to breathe, relax, and kick my brain into gear I'll be back to continue our conversation :)

If only I understood a single word that has been said throughout the thread. :p I couldn't answer these for the New Liturgies, Disciplines and Masses, let alone the pre-Vatican II ones! Well done to everyone here-especially Paul and Ann! You really know what you're talking about! ;)

I'm glad you like the thread. I hope you've learned something and I haven't just confused everyone. :)

And feel free to join in and look for the answers. Ann isn't the only one who's allowed to participate. ;)

There's two questions floating around now.

In the 1962 Missal, how many different Gospel readings are read during Advent, excluding feasts?

And you already know that the omitted Sundays after Epiphany get moved to between the 23rd and 24th Sundays after Pentecost. But what happens in the new calendar, with the Sundays in Ordinary Time?

Are we just talking Sundays here, or are we including the weekday Gospel readings?

Both. In the 1962 Missal (the TLM).

And, to make sure you've got the right answer, list the readings (just the verses - you don't have to post the whole reading, unless you want to).
