I have a car. I don't know what the bus costs. Ours do have neat little bike racks on the front though. And sometimes you can ride the ones that have a big advertisement for hemmoroid cream on them. All painted up like a tube of Prep-H. Cool huh?

Calgary:

$2.00 for adults and seniors and dogs
$1.40 from ages 6-14 inclusive and for students in grades 1-12

Seniors can buy cheap bus passes though and most students get discounts for passes if it is for school.

We also have express buses that cost 50 cents extra but they dont make very many stops (5 or 6 in the far south and then straight to downtown... they are always full though)

Well we havent seen Preparation H busses yet, but Ive seen Jiffy lube ads ( though not entire covered) - our busses will be done up that way Canuck style when Hockey season approaches.

Ha! Jennifer Garner. Well I dont pay attention much to the ads when I get on the bus to work but NO DOUBT the bus I am on is sporting ads for the tv show the L-Word when I see so many guys gawking. its filmed here in Vancouver so its been getting more attention. We get some suggestive ads once in a while.

Im looking for this Prep- H one though! haha.

I buy an adult monthly pass which is $70. otherwise it's $2 for an adult and you can get a transfer which is good for 90 minutes.

just curious but what 1 zone...2 zone.....etc mean???

In the Lower Mainland ( BC) our transit system runs through a number of cities and communities as opposed to just one - so each zone comprises of a number of cities and it will cost you more to travel within 2 or 3 zones as opposed to just one area.

I think ours (Hamilton, ON) is $2.25 cash fare. I think it's around $8 for 5 tickets. It used to be $7.50 but it went up recently (before the gas prices though, so there's rumours it might go up again). Montly passes are around $65 I think (I've never got one. Since I walk to work, I don't need the bus that much)

Usually I do too but I was sick for 3 days so it was not worth me buying a bus pass this month (I didn't start going to school until the 12th)

Actually, it costs more if you travel across different zones. For example:
  • If you take transit and travel from a city designated as Zone 1, 2, or 3, and go to a place within the same city or to another city within the same zone, then you only pay $2.25
  • If you travel from a city that is designated as Zone 1 and go to another city designated as Zone 2--or travel from a city in Zone 2 to a city in Zone 3--it costs $3.25, because you're travelling across two different zones
  • If you travel across all three zones, then it costs $4.50.
