You seem like quite a smart person, so what made you say this
Most certainly -- but I would expect religious opinions other than "don't bother; we're doomed." It doesn't really contribute much to the discussion at hand.
You cannot possibly prove that you're interested in religion, not with this attitude.
You cannot possibly prove that you're interested in religion, not with this attitude.
Fortunately, I'm under no obligation to "prove" such a thing to you.
So, are you or are you not interested in religion?!...
Are you or are you not interested in transhumanism?
I'm not, are you interested in religion? As this is a religious forum.
Are you or are you not interested in transhumanism?
We need your answer: are you or are you not interested in religion?
No need of mentioning transhumanism here in your context, as it is a moral category (trans-humanism).
"We" are just going to have to accept the fact that I'm here as an answer.
This is still a transhumanist thread... it is the context, and I think "we" have gone off topic enough.
We still haven't established your purpose of being here, if you're not really interested in religion.
No need to stress ''we'' that much, because there are many readers who'd agree with me rather than with you.
And many who'd agree with me rather than you... what's your point?
Where are they? In an atheistic forum maybe?...
Does it matter? I have no interest in hiding behind them.
Well neither do I... But a few posts ago you agreed that the number of people who agree is of importance...
No, in fact, I did precisely the opposite. You made a point of it; I dismissed your point as irrelevant.
Nope, you used my line to ask ''what's your point''...
Fair enough -- let's get back on topic: transhumanism.
Does the technology to physically improve humans pose a moral or spiritual risk? Of course.
Is this risk any different from previous technological advances? No.
Society is built around technology, and has always adapted in response to new inventions. Whatever you choose to define as "transhumanism," what would make it any different from technologies of the past?
