We are born with a sexuality, but we are also born with a gender.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say we are born with our social gender roles, but the minds of men and women do have some differences. I wouldn't say that god is involved, but is it not possible that this is just a matter of the brain developing in a different direction, as our sexuality has?

The general belief is that it is a matter of hormone levels in utero spiking peculiarly during relevant periods of brain development, feminizing or masculanizing the parts of the brain.

I disagree.

With genetics being so complex, I don't see how its impossible to be born into the wrong body. Its not about "wanting" to be a girl either - its about believing one is a girl, despite the fact they are physically male.

Also, the term is transgendered.

On topic, I'm fine with people transitioning. However, I do believe strongly that it has to be monitored by a psychologist or a medical doctor of some sort. But as long as the procedures are medically sound, and it has been determined that the subject has indeed been born into the wrong body, I see nothing wrong with undergoing surgery or similar - if they feel that's the best choice for them.

Frankly, I despise this idea that transgendered people choose to become the other gender. Physically, men & women differ. There will always be those physical characteristics between the sexes that cannot be changed. Why anyone would choose to transition only to be name-called, ostracized, & teased is beyond me. I honestly believe its a complete possibility, and has very little to do with choice.
