  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think its pretty clear that from reading the NWT (my mother-in-law is JW so I have a copy) that it is not a fresh translation but Rotterham's translation changed to support their own doctrines. From the changes that they do make it is clear that they either being purposefully deceptive or that perhaps the people making the revisions did not get beyond their first year of Greek. They misquote Mantey to try to support their translation of John 1:1 and Mantey pointed it out to them but they never apologized for bearing false witness about him: http://www.bible.ca/trinity/trinity-Mantey.htm

I will not be able to cite many as I recently threw away my copy after its being on my shelf (as a novelty item) for so many decades. But I will cite one which should suffice... John 1:1. Jesus, the Word of God is "a god"? Please! If "apart from him not even one thing came into existence" (v.3) then of necessity he apart from who "not even one thing came into existence", is excluded as uncreated. He who is uncreated is God and cannot rightly ever be called "a god".
