It seems like yours doesn’t determine them, but it does determine how one should express them or live with them or what rights they should have based on them. Which is fine, for you. But it’s your choice, not one that should dictate anything other than how you personally run your life.

No, I’m saying that human rights trump religious determinations of rights. A statement you’d agree with very much if you lived somewhere that it wasn’t your religion determining the rights. You’d be far less amenable to faith superseding basic human rights if the offshoot of Traditional Dianic Paganism took over and said “you’re a man therefore you are less important to society to women and your rights will reflect that.” Or if the Atheists took power and said bank and federal holidays will no longer be determined by the Christian worship calendar. Or if those who follow traditional Islam said that we’re going to structure grocery stores like they do in the east, where non-religiously appropriate food is not carried or stuffed in a sequestered part of the store and if you buy those products, you must use a different cashier and exit a different door in the back.
