Apple, you're too funny...you are a mom, that's why you remember that kind of stuff.
I do that to my kids, too, sing an old jingle, and they think I'm off my rocker...I love it!
I had a Dawn or two, but we lived in Europe for 3 years in the early 70's, so my comics and stuff were bought at the AFbase.
I did have a banana seated bike with an 8-ball for a "gear shift"!!
My Barbie had a GI Joe for her boyfriend, too, and a "Big Jim", which was also an outdoorsy-type, Ha!!
Too funny, remembering this stuff.:D

We needed a guy's input.
I do remember the slime and silly putty.
And the Atari system, I was surprised my parents bought it too.
I mostly played Pacman, Asteroids and TENNIS.

I woke up this morning remembering my most favorite doll, Lazy Dazy.
She is such a cutie.

:sigh: Wow, you got an Atari...? We had to sneak out to the bowling alley to play, and boy did we think we were good at those games, or what?? I watch my 12- and 10-year-olds play Playstation 2, and I could NEVER make those things on the screen do what they can do!!:p

I actually did buy Wacky Pkgs., I've always liked that kind of silly stuff, that's why I'm a CoolMom4 , now. Hee, hee!

But, seriously, girls, now, didn't those Easy-Bake Oven cakes taste like sand? We just didn't want to admit it....especially to our brothers.

Hot wheels! In order to get me to stop sucking my thumb (at the age of 5!) my mom promised me any toy I wanted. I did and all I wanted was a Hot Wheels set! So glad my mom let me get it and didn't make a big deal out of it being a "boys toy"!

 Yeah for you.

My brother had them but I was not usually allowed to play with them.

Then there were Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys we both could play with.

And the Erector Set was just for dad and brother to play with.

Lite Brite...it got really annoying though when the little pegs got stuck...

How about those loom things with the loops of stretchy material, you could make all kinds of cool stuff....so it said....I never made anything more than big squares of the stretchy material!

And yes, the easy bake oven cakes tasted like sand...the mix was much better UNcooked!

I made a zillion pot holders for my mom. She really used them too. That's all I could make on them though.
