Hello! Today I really wanted to ask something, as this has been going on for a bit and I want some really serious things cleared up. So me and my family went on vacation to Florida about 3.... weeks ago? And while going there I have had totally unwanted blasphemous thoughts while trying to fall asleep to some song called "The Prayer" and continued all the way there. I didn't actually have any of them there when we arrived, but during the ride home 3 days later, they came back. Then they have stayed away until I had this awful nightmare about Satan just about 4 days ago I'm almost sure, where it showed scenes of all different bad things that were really disturbing and not right (tell me if you want me to list them specifically) and when I woke up I had this REALLY STRONG urge to follow Satan, but then that urge went away in about 15ish minutes after reading a few prayer things. But for the past 2-3 days those thoughts have been coming back so badly and worse than ever by far. Did something bad happen to me during that dream? Not sure if it is OCD, Satan, or both, because as I have said these thoughts have somewhat bothered me a few weeks ago, but then they went away until this dream and that urge happened to me and now they are worse than ever. Are there any particular steps to deal with this? Should I go to some pastor or just my school counselor/some christian teacher or what? OCD medicine? Thanks!

Hello Foofy, this sounds like an attack from the enemy, from demons. Fear not though cause he who is in you, Jesus, is greater than he who is in the world. These thoughts are not yours, and you should be doing spiritual warfare against them to fight them off. Read Ephesians Chapter 6.

What you may need to do is get some deliverance. We as Christians have the authority to cast demons out. And although some may say that Christians can not have a demon, they are wrong, it's just that Christians can not be possessed by them, but they still can be in our body and mind (soul). Fear not though, because Jesus is with you and the Holy Ghost will fend these thoughts, demons off and you will be fine.

Here is a show I listen to called Omegamanradio, it's a place where you can call in and get prayer and deliverance, also just learn about the nature of demons and our authority in Jesus to cast them out and bind them up. Hope this helps, I just pray to God to bind all demons inside Foofy, casting them out, and loose into her the Holy Ghost, power and love in Jesus name. God bless.

I can't post a link yet cause I'm new, but go to Omegamanradio.com and check it out.

Hello friend. Get close to the Lord Jesus, and "bring into captivity every thought to Him" (2 Cor. 10:5). Stay in communion with Him as your best Friend. Look up always, and the Devil will flee away. I don't believe a true "born again" believer in Christ can be possessed by demons, but Satan will harass a believer and seek to stumble one.

I couldn't post in your thread as it was messed up and didn't allow me to. So, I'll respond here.

In Orthodox Christianity we call such unwanted thoughts logismoi (tempting thoughts which lead to sin). The Church Fathers tend to recognize five stages:

assault (thoughts pop into your head)
interaction (you entertain these thoughts)
consent (you decide to act on these thoughts)
defeat (you are hostage- resistance is difficult)
passion (it becomes part of you)

The usual recommended practice is to pray when the thoughts first pop into your head. Ignore the thoughts if possible and keep turning your mind and heart back to prayer. It is easiest to stop at this point.

Most people will say the Jesus Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Thank you guys. What would be my best solution to fix this problem. I know that there are more than one ways to kind of get rid of this, but is there a best way? Church pastors, reading bible verses, etc.

Prayer. You praying and others praying for you. It's not always an easy road.

The best way is to ignore it. If you fight it, it will get worse. Don't give it any attention or put any energy into it.
