Now that's a tough one. I believe we will recognize him. I'm not exactly sure how though. Maybe it will be like as in the verse that says that the sheep know his voice?

Yep, he'll be the one coming through the clouds while huge, bombastic trumpets blow. If we're still here, I doubt we'll be able to not notice.
