Sometimes we just gotta let go.

Pray and let God take care of this.

After all, there was a saintly Byzantine Catholic Bishop who was martyred by the Communists. He was also persecuted and even imprisoned by his fellow Latin Catholic Bishops in Eastern Europe, but he forgave them and then prophesized before he died:

(1) The West would apologize to the East -- recently done by Pope John Paul II

(2) The East would convert the West. (To be done)

All of his other prophecies have already come true.

This was published in a Ruthenian Catholic catechism which I read in 1994 before JPII's apology!

Don't bother. Why is everyone so hung up on this. Roman Catholicism has been it's own denomination for 1000 years.

Let catholics be catholics, and orthodox, please stop wasting your spiritual lives worrying about a reunification that will never happen.

Please. Be Orthodox, don't be an ecumenist.

Exactly! Why are the RC's so hung up on reuniting with us Orthodox? They don't want to give up any of their teachings which we disagree with, they want us to accept the papacy, but they want us to be with them? They just don't understand Orthodox Christianity.

Unfortunately a lot of Orthodox Christians don't understand it either, and waste all their time with ecumenism.

Reunification? It makes it sound as though the Church is divided, which has never occured. The Roman Catholic Church left the True Universal Church of Christ, going its own direction.

Those that left Christ's Body, are welcome back just as we would pray for all those who have left due to schism or are outside the faith to come into the fold. But for all those seeking to unite themselves in Christ, they must renounce Satan and all his works, and renounce heresy.

For the RCs to come into the Body of Christ they would have to be humble enough to renounce their former delusions about the supremecy of the pope, original sin, infallibility of the pope, immaculate conception of Mary, the filioque addition to Nicene Creed, etc.

All of us converts to Orthodoxy came humbly renouncing everything we believed before that was false. I know for me, that was almost every Christian belief I held. I was studying at University hoping to become a Pentecostal/Charismatic preacher.
