I lost all respect for Tom Cruise when he got on the Scientology bit. Leah Remini too... she was so hot in the King of Queens. Now she's a whack job

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I lost all respect for Tom Cruise when he got on the Scientology bit. Leah Remini too... she was so hot in the King of Queens. Now she's a whack job
to be fair, i haven't heard of her doing backflips off of Oprah's couch or bullying people because they sought help for their depression.
Scientology though is designed (seriously) to create emotional problems and blur the lines of reality, so Tom Cruise's insanity doesn't surprise me one bit. The fact that he's so open about his insanity and that his handlers don't try to hide it better - that surprises me.

This is what did it in for me. He had never experienced what Brooke Shields was going through and he talked down about her for getting help. PPD can be very serious if not treated and I just want to punch him in the face every time I think about what he said about her.

On the whole bullying Brooke Sheilds over PPD - it was a crass thing to do, but some people are against medication for ailments that really warrant it, for whatever reason. It wouldn't be so bothersome though, if he had MD after his name or something, or if he himself weren't a nutcase.
That's kind of like having Kate Gosselin or Michelle Duggar going on record on morning television to call Tila Tequila a fame harlot. It's fine to be against drugs for whatever reason, but make damn sure your hands are clean if you're going to soapbox against psychiatric drugs.
As anyone should be able to tell from the avatar photo of my very recognizable face, I myself am a bit of a famewhore, so my calling Kate or Tila one isn't hypocritical.

I think there is nothing wrong with getting upset about that. Would I? Probably not, depends on the mood I would be in, but nine times out of ten, I'd just walk away. Hey, if he wants to throw a tantrum about it, go ahead.
Its his neurotic views that do annoy me. Yet if he keeps making movies I like, I'll watch him.
