  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Today.... the morning is shining on another crisp winters day. Brian has gone sailing...remote controlled model boats (his hobby) I'll make a cake this morning, sweep the floors and dust. I'll bake fish and chips for lunch and in the afternoon I'll do a bit of reading. As I write this, Roger, the dog, is curled up asleep on his little bed next to me. In a minute I'll throw myself in the shower, then have breakfast.
Catch you later people. :) xx

I think I will enjoy your winter with you, in my mind...we are into a very, hot dry summer.

Summer....I do not enjoy summer...although my house has air conditioning and our heat is dry, once it gets above 32c (89f) I find it too hot and under my patio it's often 42c (107f)....so no, I don't like the heat. Winters in my part of the country aren't too bad, though everyone's complaining of the cold this year. We never get snow here, and we've had the driest July in 35 yrs. Our nights get down to about 3c (37f) and our days can be a pleasant 20c (68f) but temps vary depending on which part of the country you live in. Some areas have snow in winter. I like spring and autumn. :)

Brian probably doesn't want all of those prawns by himself, I can help! :D Annie, when you have tea you traditionally have a snack too?

It's funny what different meanings people put on words for meals. We have breakfast of course, then lunch (middle of the day) and for many dinner is the main evening meal, but it can also be called tea ... tea also being a drink. And tea...the meal...it is usually the main and biggest meal of the day. However, Brian and I have our main meal at lunchtime because I have reflux and if I eat a lot in the evening I get sick. For lunch we might have a roast or steak or something substantial, plus a dessert. For tea..our evening meal, we might have a bowl of soup or a couple of sandwiches, just something light. For many years our main meal was in the evening and I could never understand why I was sick...then I realized I had a major reflux problem, so rather than have major surgery, we changed our eating habits, and it's been fine every since.

Another thing Brian can have all on his own is licorice ... how I hate that horrible stuff !! Maybe I should start a thread about our favourite foods. :D
