Hey guys,
I've just had one of those nights and days where everything just seemed to go wrong. While some of it was inevitable, it hit me off guard and just like a ton of bricks turned my face into a frown.
2 nights ago, my car battery died on me. So I had to go get it replaced, which was expensive. Then I wake up late this morning for work - 3 hours late, and I call in to the machine and leave a message saying that I slept in and will be in later. I'm on overtime right now, so I was anticipating making an additional $40 tonight. Turns out I wasn't going to get it today!
So I head downstairs and I think to myself before I approach the glass door ahead of me, "What day is today?" Yep. Today is Thursday. Street sweeping day. "Where did I park....oh junk...." Yep. I got a $45 parking ticket as I left the building to head for the job I was already late for.
So I get in my car and realize that I have to take something to the post office (by this time it was lunch so I wouldn't be on the clock anyway - I had time). I get to the post office, my packages in a clutter, finally get to the head of the line and because I hadn't packed my stuff properly, I had to get out of line, pack it tightly, tape it (buy the tape roll for one lousy piece!), address it (buy the address forms for one lously address!). Then I had to get back in line, and OH, and I got to get into an argument with my fiancee over the phone telling me that I should avoid parking tickets - thanks for that tip)
So if you all could pray for Spotty's peace. I realize I live in America. I have a God who loves me, a great girl, a nice car, good friends...but sometimes we just don't see the benefits and Graces in the frustration of the day. Today...was aforementioned day. I just need to relax and breathe. Relax and breathe. I have so many blessings, so many sweet gifts of God's grace that I should be happy the world over. I really should. But today just gave me a right hook to the jaw. Oy vey.
I hope everyone else had a better one than I did.
God Bless...and thanks for letting me vent to you.
