  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Today I am grateful for...

Today I am so thankful for well, for today. We have no guarantees for anything other than right now. God knows what and when and he gives us right now.

Thank you Lord for NOW.

and necessary my dear sister in Christ, as God Himself is......

Paul Washer is a blessing...let us faint not, but hear every smidgen about our God the Warrior of warriors, the Holy One, the Alpha and the Omega, and our Creator Who abhors sin. Because God is holy, it was necessary for Jesus to be the scapegoat for us, and be crushed by our holy God, in our stead...let us celebrate that He provided a way for us not to be done in by His holy wrath, amen?

Brinny thanks for sharing I think Paul is a great preacher along the lines of Spurgeon and Charles Finney. His message is a good balance to much of wht the church is exposed to these days. I however do not like the editing of these sermons in this Youtube offering as it seems to be only sensationalize them. For me it does the opposite and trivializes or makes the message a caricature. We must know how much God has done for us and as the scripture says in Revelation

Rev 2:5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Rev 3:19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

In my case however, it was the love of God shown in Christ's sacrificial death that caused my repentence not fear of eternal damnation.
Blessings Jan

I am thankful for the Word of God. I had this scripture sent to me via a daily Bible Study or devotion sent to my email each weekday it kind of sums it up I think what Paul is doing.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25
For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.
Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom: but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness; but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

I amthankful for a job that gives me sick time benefits. I don't like to be ill and most often don't need it but it is nice to not have to worry about income if I am. My son doesn't have that benefit with his job and often goes to work ill which I think is wrong but what can you do?

Today I was blessed in being headache free when I woke up; only to see I had a beautiful pair of cardinals at my feeder and 4 deer out my back door :)
At noon I was graced with a new hair dresser who did a great job
Thank You Lord
