Well..... ' it ' is over
At 11.30am [today] Mary and I got on the bus to the shopping precinct
where, we caught the # 53 bus to Manchester Royal Infirmary
at 2pm, after a half hour wait PAST my appoinment time
[they, were having a BUSY DAY... ]
I was booked in and given the backless smock and a pair of paper panties
with-which I was to replace my clothing, whereafter, I spent a further 20 minutes
waiting for the examination room to be cleaned up for my exam
having been installed upon the scanning table and my legs 'bound-together'
I was given a local anaesthetic in my right groin, just a few moments
before the line which carried the 'wire'
which marked the extent the line had entered my femoral artery
and reached beyond my ileac arteries
This line, was then replaced with the catheter that infused me
with the opaque marker dye
After a quick test 'pump' the scan, which I watched on the theatre monitors, proceeded
The surgeon [doctor] joked with-regard to my two previous angioplasties
having made me, an expert patient... who, could give them instructions
on what was to occur next, in the procedure
Afterwards, it was explained to me... using the images obtained
that the ileac arteries that had many years ago [now] been angioplastied
again, required re-doing and that because they, had been done before
they would very soon be done again and that this time they would be stented
Despite, both legs showing the progress of the disease within me
He, speculated that the supply to them, was GOOD
and that the only concern with 'them' was that
below my ankles the blood vessels were too-small, to treat
At 4.30pm I was given the 'ok' to leave the hospital for home
with instructions, on how to self-treat a bleed from the newly sealed puncture
and the artery below it... and to get myself to the nearest A&E department
should I fail to stem any bleeding
I am to expect the considered opinion of the hospital team/my consultant
in due course, and very likely then, also an appointment for the ileac-artery repairs
The hospital will phone me in the morning
to check up [remotely] on my condition 'then'
Meanwhile, here I am 'safe and sound' PTL
to tell you that there is no IMMEDIATE NEED to amputate anything
I know 'someone' who KNEW this would be the case.... before, the doctor

I couldn't mention that we, were going to be away from home [for many hours]
in case someone LOCAL could read this from the forums
and take advantage of our absence
Although I do have 'Contents Insurance'...
and COULD replace any lost necessities... the mess that normally accompanies 'break-ins'
couldn't be cleaned-up before xmas and I have decorated extensively these past months
I really-couldn't, bring myself to increase our vulnerability, in that way
