  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

But doesn’t the Bible say that God and Christ are one?

Yes. But in the same way it says that Christians should be one. Christians do not become one human. Neither do the Father and His Son become one God. It simply means that They are in unity as we are to be in unity.

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one. (John 17:21-23)

So 2002 christian..does this mean you do not believe in the Trinity ?

"We were created in the image of Jesus, who is the image of God. "

ummm...Christ is not God's image, he is God. I think you might not be thinking about the right terminology here. We are made in God's image, for the word used in Genesis 1:27 is clearly translated as image..

"06754 tselem {tseh'-lem}

from an unused root meaning to shade; TWOT - 1923a; n m

AV - image 16, vain shew 1; 17

1) image
1a) images (of tumours, mice, heathen gods)
1b) image, likeness (of resemblance)
1c) mere, empty, image, semblance (fig.)"

We are the image of God. :) I think you might like the term likeness better. No difference in the point being made though.
