It can be addictive. I still have fifty rosaries I bought on eBay, and I got rid of about 30 things of body wash I bought there. (Good thing I bought in lots!)

One thing I finally made myself do was pay for my eBay stuff by selling things on eBay. Somehow I suspect I just lost money that way. Finally I let my credit cards expire....

I don't do a whole lot of buying there, though I do browse quite a bit. I like to buy things new over second hand, plus, there are a lot of cheap replicas on there that don't have the quality of the real products. I try to be as careful as I can when buying from there.

To me eBay isn't a hobby. It's a store like any store.

I went through a phase where I spent like crazy and mostly on stuff that I truly didn't need.

Now, when I need something I might check eBay to see if I can get a good price on something.

I've also sold a few items I didn't need.

I think if you're spending money on stuff that you can truly live without, then you should ask God if there's a better use for that money.

I'm sure He'll say yes.

I don't find it at all addictive. I find discussion forums and chat rooms MUCH more addictive.

Is it too soon to start putting Christmas stuff on eBay? Maybe in a month or so?

Not sure, it's not too soon for all the high street stores to get started :)

You could give it a try, some people like to do it around now to avoid the rush later on xx

It's not addictive really, you just gotta spend a good amount of time on it to find good stuff. I've found football(soccer) shirts replicas for as low as 25 bucks, with original letters and patches, all originals and great quality. They usually go for about 90 in the store. I also bought a turntable, some football DVDs only sold in Europe, and of course, an all regions DVD player. The only useless stuff I've bought was the full run of Astro City Vol.1. It's easy to restrain since I'm in a budget..and I use a debit card. I don't keep much in it.

i concur. this guy i know at school bought and sold things on ebay and was ocd about the items on there, until they were sold. ebay took the first seat, while his homework was second...that's pretty addictive...

Yeah, when I first started using eBay I bought too much stuff. The same thing has happened to almost everyone I know who uses eBay.

I've had enough bad experiences with both buyers and sellers and that I hardly use it anymore. I still have 100% positive feedback which is kind of amazing. I'm surprised some of the jerks I've dealt with didn't give me a negative just to be jerks.

yeah, but most of the people that have good feedback (98% and higher) are not really good sellers/buyers: they just find some way or another to make the other give positive feedback, i.e. sellers withold feedback until buyers give good feedback and buyers...well buyers are left defenseless...

That's why it's very important to check what kind of feedback a seller leaves before buying.
