God has a way of answering you when you don't expect it, and in different ways than we'd like. Be patient and he will reveal himself.
I became a christian when I realised that god answered my prayers when I least expected it, and in a way that was unexpected.
I guess you just have to have faith and be patient.

Sometimes It just takes time to really feel gods effect, but the moment you accept him he's there. (He's actually there before) Also it helps to spend time with him daily, just 15 minutes out of your day praying can make a whole big difference.

I accepted Christ actually only about a year ago. I had been a christian before but never really meant it. After accepting christ I can say so many wonderful things have happened in my life. My life has so much more meaning. I've met an incredible girl that has helped me grow in my faith (its good to grow with somebody maybe not a girlfriend but a christian friend) Also I've been able to stay away from alcohol and as much partying which has helped me alot in school and not only in school but my baseball career. (Accepting Christ dosent mean you have stop drinkin or other stuff but it's just amazing how you don't NEED those things anymore) Infact I still slip and make mistakes time to time but now I know that my sins are forgiven for so even if I was to die today I know I'd be spending eternity with my Savior Jesus Christ.

Hopes that Helps if you have anymore questions or need a penpal defintly PM me becuase I still am growing and need help to and would love to help you.

u trying to accept Jesus as ur savior, and u dont feel that he is answeing u or clearing ur mind.. im still waiting for a clear mind. When i got saved i was waiting for that feeling i heard everyone talk about, peacefull bawling ur eyes out happy feeling, it never came, so i thought well he must not want me, or im doing something wrong, there was nothing. But i come to realize that it wasnt his lack of being there that caused me to feel nothing, it was my past and my emotional diareah so to speak. feelings come hard to me. I also dont believe that when u get saved that Jesus is jumping around up in ur face here i am here i am, because walking with Jesus is really a walk in faith. U have to have failth the rest will fall in line. And once ur saved, it doesnt mean the questioning stops. bad things will happen and u will ask, where was God, or why did he abandon me. There are lots and lots of times i thought God wasnt answering my prayers, and at times still do, but have found in the long run he has, not the way i would of answered them or thought they would of been answered. But after they have been answered and i realized his way was better then mine. Its not a cake walk being saved and life isnt always better, a friend once told me, for those of us who are saved, this will be the only hell we will know. those who are not saved, this will be the only heaven they will know.

There is so mutch answers going around to how being a christian, one said I should let Jesus into my heart, and one said that I should NOT let Jesus into my heart. And there is so many explanations going around for what God says and do, specially when it comes to prayers.
or those of us who are saved, this will be the only hell we will know. those who are not saved, this will be the only heaven they will know

that's a good quote.

First off, don't expect to hear God talking. Its wonderful to have it happen but often God uses sutler signs. For example in the weeks after I became a Christian I saw (and felt) some strange things. Smiling faces in condensation (I know tat no one could of tampered with it), in the clouds. Also try asking for healing, I make no promise that God will give it, but if he does you'll know about it.

One thing you need to know. This is God's own word, not mine by the way.

You are saved by FAITH in Christ as the Son of God who died for our sin. Through His death and resurrection, we can have forgiveness of sin and eternal life through FAITH.

It's not about a feeling. You won't find a single teaching in the Bible that says you'll "feel" saved.

My testimony is as follows:

I was a wild guy, heavily into rock and roll, did the drugs and alcohol, in a band, partied like no tomorrow.

One day after heavy drinking, I got into a car wreck.

Nearly killed me. I "came to" in an intensive care unit not knowing what had happened to me.

After realizing that I had really messed up my life and was literally at death's door, lying there in that bed, unable to move, eat, roll over, sit up, etc....I asked God what I needed to do to be saved.

I heard one word...."confess"

The next time my parents came into the roon, I told them I'd gotten saved. I didn't feel saved. I didn't feel anything but I made the confession in faith.

Very soon after that, I noticed that there were things about me that were different than ever before.

For the first time I found myself caring about other people. Major surprise to me as I pretty much hated everybody before.

I say myself changing, ever so gradually, in new ways after that.

It's been a process ever since. That was 16 years ago.

Before you believe what anyone tells you about getting saved, believe what God Himself says...

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

It's not aobut a feeling. It's about accepting Christ as God's Son.

If you have sincerely odne this, from a sincere motive, it's done. Period, end.

After doing that, the best thing you can do is get baptized and get yourself into a church with people your own age. Get actively involved in church and get good Christian support and fellowship.

You might or might not get an answer from God's mouth. That's not a prerequisite to salvation. BELIEVE....

I agree with ChristianDude. You don't depend on feelings. Human feelings will let you down.
When you accept Jesus, by faith, to be your Savior and Lord....He does save you. His salvation to you is a gift given freely. You don't earn your way into heaven. All you do is accept this gift.....but you must grow..........

Are you in fellowship in a church? Are you reading the Bible and learning more about His Word and applying it in your life? Are you praying?

God bless you as you search His will.

As ChristianDude says, it is not about a feeling. It is actually about accepting Jesus Christ as your saviour and Lord. You do this by knowing you are a sinner and believing that Jesus lived a perfect life but was crucified for our sins and rose again from the dead. If you believe this, then you are saved.

I am reading the bible and praying, sometimes I go to church. and that is about it. and I am baptized, when I was born. but that does not mean I am a christian.

great incedent you had there christiandude, i wish I could have one similar, like that one, wich is more clear and obvious then a more ambivalent incedent.

Hi,

You can have your own experiences with God. They will be unique to you. Please understand that I had to receive mine in faith. Even now, after 16 years of growing in Christ, it's still a life of faith.

I'd like to ask you a question if I may.

Do you have a sincere desire to know Jesus Christ..?

"I also dont believe that when u get saved that Jesus is jumping around up in ur face here i am here i am"

Now I have to settle down.

You can trust that because you gave yourself to Him, that He has taken you into his fold. That's what He agreed on, so it's done. This kind of faith will need to be followed your whole Christian walk, whether you get miracles or healings or rescue or loud rumbly voices shaking you out of bed. God will do what He promised you. He promised that if you believed, you were saved. You are.

The feelings that accompany are different for everyone, and they change from time to time. My first few years as a Christian I was insanely, offensively happy, and I had some shocking drops of the happiness that taught me to rely on His words rather than my feelings.

Make sure that you keep taking in the scriptures regularly, or you will lose sight of who he is and how he cares for you.

I think you got me there...casue I am about maybe 80 % in desire way. not 100 % and I guess that is what it takes. I can say it so many times that I will accept Jesus or something similar, but I don't know exactly what I am saying, I think. maybe deep down there is some doubt and doubt is not good enough. So that is maybe why I can't say that I am a christian. And that is partyl why I am here, seeking christians and learning, reading the bible, pray. But all I really whant to do is just to know perfectly that Jesus died for me and etc... without beeing the reader, the churchgoer the prayer, and just say: "Hi, I wanna accept Jesus as my one tru savior, and deliver me from all of my sins" but It doesn't work that way for me, I think.

One time we got a visist from a South-African misionary, who said that God has a plan for me. I wonder what that is.
Can anyone give me some good "evidence" that god exist in their lifes.

I had the experience when I was a kid and wasn't a follower of Christ. I prayed, but did not really get an answer. It's because I had never repented. Do you know what the word "repent" means? The word "repent" means to reject ALL things that are against Christ in your life. That may sound radical, right? Yes, it does. Jesus has expected nothing less than a disciple following him and loving Him more than their father, mother, brothers, sisters, or friends. He has said, "Take up your cross and follow me". If you were a person living in the Roman Empire, then crucifixtion was a part of daily life. You would see the dead bodies hang on the side of the road nailed to a cross. You would see a person covered in blood slowing dying possibly over a day, possibly two days. The Romans were very cruel and dehumanizing in their punishments. If Jesus is sayig to take up your cross, this image would send a very clear message that a person was to "die" to themselves and do everything His way. Being a disciple of Christ can be hard. Living for Christ is about being a disciple. Please visit http://www.livingwaters.com/listenwatch/stream_hbks_broadband.asx

Can anyone give me some good "evidence" that god exist in their lifes.
Before I got saved a little over 2 years ago, I was a practicing pagan (wicca). My mom raised me christian but I fell away from the faith because I just couldn't believe. When my neighbor invited me to her church (2 years ago ;) ) I really enjoyed the music and the preachin was really good and caught my attention. What made me want to become a christian was seeing the joy on everyones face at church. They had something that I WANTED. So I took the plunge and my life has beet totally changed!

Ok.. now you wanted evidence so here it goes... I was working at a job that I really hated. I got yelled at and cussed at by a co-worker and nothing was done. I would come home crying almost everyday and would call in sick because I didn't want to deal with all the fighting. I prayed every night for God to get me out of there. I often wondered if he was even listening. well... One day on my way home from work I remembered God answers prayers LOL, so I told God "God, I don't know if I can go to this job anymore... I NEED YOUR HELP!!!". well.... when I went home that night I picked up the bible and started reading and I was right in the middle of a chapter when the phone rang... It was a job offer! You would think that would be proof that it was God but no God went a little further than that... When I went into the interview the guy told me I look familiar so I asked him what church he went to and then we sat and talked about God for an HOUR!! Well I ended up getting the job and let me tell you... God picked the right time and place for me to get the job. I know it was him because my boss (not the guy I interviewed with) is a pastor of a church! Didn't find that out till a year later LOL

To make a long story even longer ;) God ALWAYS answers prayers. He just does it HIS way on HIS timing and EXACTLY how and when it NEEDS to be answered. If you aren't getting the thing you need at your church try some other churches out. I get excited about going to church on Sundays cause I can see him working on me all the time.

I hope this has helped. If you ever need an ear to listen PM me any time :)

God Bless you!!!! (he will too)

hi DeAnima,

the 'plan' that God has for your life (when people say this) is in a nutshell to repent (turn away from dead works/sin) and turn to Christ (trust in Christ). Of course you would only repent if you understood that you stand as a sinner under God's wrath in your natural state, and that you would realise that you had to trust in Christ's righteousness to save you from being condemned/damned.
It is God who draws a person to his son Jesus so that he would see the gospel or good news of Christ.
As others have said, God has spoken to us by the scriptures to know about one's assurance of salvation. I am glad that he has done this, because his words are a rock. Our feelings can change.

I spent about a year of analyzing, exploring, and doing Christian things before I made a public decision. By then, I was already absorbed into it and walking up front was more of a ritual; I'd heard of people making a born-again committment and it sounded like something cool to do...I wondered if anything new would happen.

The meeting was in a stadium, with a nationally-known speaker. He talked about his daughter, who was my age. I heard inside my head, "you'll meet her" and I thought, wow, that's a crazy thing to hear.

About ten years later, she sat behind me in Chemistry class.

It wasn't a big blast miracle, but one of the little ways that God shows me he cares about me.

I grew up in a christian home. I accepted the Lord about over 20yrs. ago. Of course there wasn't voices booming from heaven or lightning striking when this happened. Through-out my child-hood, I had hot/cold experiences with my relationship with God. One week I would be on fire for God and then the next I wouldn't even pick up the bible. That has been going on for maaaany years. Until recently, I've devoted myself to the bible and prayer everyday, and I feel I'm closer to God than I have ever been.

That's been my experience. :)

DeAnima,

You will never hear and "answer" from God. To think you will be like waiting for a Unicorn to fly over you. Many who have posted give you the same old anwers, you cannot know he has accepted you, but you must have faith that he accepted you.

I tried to tread the path of Christianity, but nothing was answered. The responses you have receieved on this thread all rely on blind faith. Think and you will know that "Jesus" will never answer you.

true, I think. When I ask christians why they belive in God it is also that they say that he answers their prayers but it is also some who just belive. And if it just believeing I am an half christian cause I don't have full faith, just half maybe.

how come some get answers and some doesn't. Recently we got a visist from the States as we like to call it, and they said that the Holy Spirit has shown them more and that they are more alive and mutch other things. I have actually asked the holy sprit to fill me with his holyness, and when I did my hold body got the chils, whas that a sign?
