"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. (But) these you should have done, without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!
THESE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT NEGLECTING THE OTHERS, THE WRONG WAS NEGLECTING JUDGMENT MERCY AND FEDELITY. not thithing. he said to tithe THESE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE. but they forget the other, more weighty matters.
people use that verse against tithing alot, but it doenst say tithing is wrong, but that neglected the rest is wrong.
THESE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE
he sanctioned tithing and the things they were doing.
WITHOUT NEGLECTING THE OTHERS
but said they were wrong for what they WERENT DOING.theres simply alot more to living right that tithing.
not that tithing is wrong.
yes, we should tithe.
tithing isnt being a slave or servant of god, though paul said he was THE SLAVE OF GOD, and more than once i think.
god does give commandements, even today, he does have commandments. jesus told us to do many things, to love to be holy, many many things.
and we should obey them.
we should hear the words of jesus and obey them, as jesus said to do.
and jesus did agree with them tithing.
obeying him when he sanctioned tithing, is no diffrent than obeying him when he said TO LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF.
and whether you think your a servant or not, you need to obey him.
haha, THEY DONT STRAIN CAMELS! THEY CONSUME THEM.
they strain nats, ya know, like putting a bunch of stuff into a sifter and shaking and only the small things fall through the wholes?
they are only willing to give away little nats, but are quick to take and devour great camels.
its simply saying they wont away give very much, but they are very quick to take great amounts for themselves.
i just hope ol HERVEY doesnt get into this, haha.
we never did come a conclusion about this.
