Hi !

I just wished to know if the complete Tithe has to go to church where I attend or whether it can be divided and given to various ministries.

Actually what i have been doing is,divide the Tithe money into parts and sent a part to local church and remaining to various other ministries.

*Is that correct?

For eg lets say Tithe money is 400$.I would divide it into 100$ and send it to four different places including the church.

Is that fine?

Plz let me know....

Thanx

Well, tithing is not commanded to be done by God. The law of tithing was abolished in the NT, so it isn't a matter of grave importance. Giving money to a good cause is still a good thing, but don't think that the Bible says that your money MUST go this way or that way.

As long as you're happy with the people and ministries your money supports, it is your choice as to how much, and where it goes to.

Hopefully that helps. Oh, also, just incase you're wondering about the whole law of tithing no longer being in effect, I just googled for a good article on it. Here it is.

Regards,
Kyle

The Bible does address tithing. It says it in Hebrews and Luke.

Hebrews 7:4-6
Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

5And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: 6But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

It also says it in Luke. Even the Pharisees tithed. So it would be totally wrong to say not to tithe.

Luke 18:11-13
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

HOW ELSE WILL YOU BE BLESSED AND PROSPER?
God bless!!!

Dear friend in Christ: Tithing is a free-will gift of love from You to God. There are no restraints on your giving other than that it be from your heart in thanksgiving for all that God has given you, and not forced out of guilt, fear, or a desire for recognition. Sooooooooooooo . . . . . what you do with your tithe is between you and God. When payday (or whatever) comes, pray to God regarding where He wants the money to go, and the Holy Spirit will guide you in dispersing the funds.
We must, however, keep in mind our obligation to support our place of worship and provide for those who minister to us. The fact that you have asked the question bodes well for the future success of your tithing and the Spiritual benefits you will accrue in the process.

MAY YOU BE BLESSED!

I was once concerned about this issue to and you will hear many differing opinions. But my advice is to give to where God leads you to give. It is about using the money that he provides you to help others, to show them the love that God shows you. To share with others the love that God shares with you.

Its not about the amount but about the motivation behind the giving. If we are giving to show God's Love than we are giving with God's will. If we are doing it to gain recognition/support or earn something...it is not. Tithing does not have to be money either. Your time and talents count too!

IMHO this artice can be sumed up in one word HORSEFEATHERS.

God has never needed our money/time or any other "thing" we possess. He has provided all that we have. Giving is for us. Ever been in love? When you are, almost every waking thought is what you can do for that person.

LOVE is the commandment in the NT and LOVE includes giving. (It is a demonstration of our LOVE even for God). Tithing was not abolished but amplified in the NT.
