  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was just wondering....

...how tired is normal during the first stage of pregnancy?

I am used to feeling tired as i don't sleep that well and i am used to going to bed at midnight and getting up around 6 - 6.30am.

At the moment though i am so tired - totally bone weary.
I could sleep all day and night.

Since we got back from being away (got back 8th Nov) we are going to bed anytime between 9pm and 11pm. And i am getting to sleep pretty much straight away and only wake up about once or twice in the night (very unsual for me as it's usually 4 or 5 times a night)
But i still feel tired all the time.

Is this normal?

I know that its possible to get diabeties during pregnancy and a sympton is feeling tired so i was wondering if this could be the case.

In my first month or so, I was completely zonked. I'd lay on the couch and not get up all day for a couple weeks it seems like. Made my then boyfriend really frustrated. He thought I was just being lazy. The first trimester sleep became personal to me. I'd get so frustrated when he'd try to snuggle or when he'd take up my side of the bed. I felt like I got hit by a bus and his not understanding I couldn't sleep only made it worse.
So I'd say it's pretty normal, or at least in my case it was. I did have my glucose test a month or so ago and everything was normal but talk to your doctor if it'll make you feel better~ Oh and take naps when you can. Wont do any good having you dragging around feeling miserable

Oooh, yeah! It is normal and it is great! Get all the sleep you can during trimester one because you won't get near as much the rest of the time! I was sleeping 12-18 hours/day my first trimester. L:)L
I totally agree! Enjoy it while it lasts!

I was exhausted through my entire pregnancy..especially the first trimester, being in school didn't help any, there for a while I didn't have a life, I got up at 5:30am to start getting ready for school, got back home at around 4, did my homework, ate and went back to bed...I felt like that's all I did for the first 3 or 4 months...you're perfectly normal.

Three more days and I'm in the second trimester:clap:
From weeks 6-presently, the tired thing comes and goes. Usually, I have energy (some) till lunch time and I'm grateful that's when preschool lets out.:prayer: God is good; He knew I would need this teaching job with these hours to make it through pregnancy working.
Random days the exhaustion hits me like a ton of rocks. I can literally pass out on the carpet if I don't force myself to stay upright. I'm glad these days are few and far between (Thanksgiving was one, though!)

I'm praying the burst of energy second trimester hapiness happens to me.....oh please....:prayer:

Thanks. I'm glad to see it's normal.

I don't think the nap thing is going to happen though - not during the week anyway. I'm up around 6am and i don't get home from work until 5pm or a little after. Weekends are my time for sleeping lots though - i love my bed lol
