Tired of people, tired of being afraid, tired of being depressed all the time and tired of being so angry inside. How many times do I have to cry out to God before he hears me? how long will he leave me in this despair? I dont know whats wrong with me, im so screwed up inside.

So many different theologies and so many different opinions on the unpardonable sin? who is right? who is wrong? One person says I went too far while another tells me I didnt? So much confusion and tired of battling the thoughts day in and day out, who is right and who is wrong!!!???

Will I ever have assurance or will I live the rest of my life in this unbearable fear that I will one day hear the words "depart"?.

Sorry guys, needed to vent this frustration somewhere.

Don't get caught up in what is being debated (heatedly ;)) about. Simply continue reading your Bible, consulting God, rinse, repeat. If you focus on the matters of men, you will be distracted from the matters of God, which are way more important and less stressful. If you continue living your life with Jesus as your Lord, and edifying your brothers and sisters and making as many disciples as you can, you will be focusing on the matters of God instead of distracting yourself with technical matters of men.:preach:

:)

Peace.

hello...your post reminded of these verses. I hope with all my heart that they help you.

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
1 cor 13:12

All Scripture is breathed out by God...
2 Tim 3:16...

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.
1 join 2:27

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

You need to have faith if you are not really believing with all of your being that the prayers you are crying out will happen. Then you are wasting your time God wants your faith and trust in him if you have even a little doubt it won't happen. You need to really believe in the prayers you offer up to him. And don't think he can't hear whats in your head he knows he can hear it all. Hang in there and grow in your faith =]

Hi Rob,

I am assuming that you have converns over possibly committing the unpardonable sin.

I had the same problem a few years ago. In fact, there are many people under the OCD part of this forum who are fighting the exact same fight as you. http://www.christianforums.com/f598/ . Perhaps you have a religious OCD.

As for myself, the fear kind of died away when I starting questioning different parts of the Bible making myself less interested in religion. Ofcourse, overtime, I hit some incredible lows, and I am still at a low point.

Just remember that God said that no one can ever pluck us out of his hand.

If you have confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that jesus is Lord (not savior) then thenGod has heard you. Believe the promise of God not your feelings. Feelings change, God doesn't

As I said above assurance comes from believing the promise of God and not your feelings. We live by the word of God not our emotions. I know that it isn't easy to do but it can be done. Jesus tells us that all we need is a mustard seed of faith (the smallest thing they knew of).

That is not true Rob. I care about you and so do many here.

I genuinly believe that you do care Hentenza because of our past conversations. However as for the many others I seriously doubt it, if anything at all im just another form of amusement for many others. For the most part many if of my concerns are never taken seriously and are usually just shrugged off by many as being in my head or some other problem. At any rate I have posted many sermons from many well known trusted pastors on the unpardonable sin and not once does anyone bother to sincerely give it a look over but they are always willing to throw in their 2 cents. But whatever, im done with it.

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him." 1 John 5:13-15

Rob, according to this, why did the Apostle write these words? It is for our assurance! "That you may know that you have eternal life." Note also that what we ask must be "according to his will." So, what is God's will for you? In 2 Peter 3:9, God shows that his will is that none should perish. God does not want you to perish, but to reach repentance! It is clear to me that you want that as well.

So now, the question remains, how does one obtain eternal life and the forgiveness of sins? "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) Have you done this? If you have turned to Jesus in faith, trusting in him and him alone, you are saved. This is what God...who loves you...says in his Word!

Rob, I want you to read 2 Peter 3:15-18. Notice that even Peter admits some scripture is hard to interpret and some people twist God's word, often to the leading away of innocent people. "Woe to them!" (Luke 11:52) says the Lord. But what does the word say to you? "You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." (2 Peter 3:17-18)

Rob, I am new at this forum and I have not seen the sermons that you have mentioned. If you would like to post them again, I will work with you in seeking the truth from God. He will provide us an answer.

At the same time, I ask that you will go back to the foundation of your faith, he is your everlasting rock! Forget the counsel of men (myself included), and consult the one who gave Himself for you. He is the Word of God and he manifested himself and gave himself completely for you and me.

Because He Lives,
John

Thank you, its just a deep issue with me and my fears that I resisted the Spirit for too long. I do believe he can be resisted too much, in fact to the point that he ceases to strive with you.

Rob: Focus on Peace-Peace Within. Make up your mind to be positive then do it on purpose. Cast down the negative. You may not can control EVERY thought that pops in your head, but you do get to decide which ones you keep and which ones you discard.

It Requires a bit of discipline to be balanced. The mind complicates things, but your heart is in the right place. Some people refuse to be happy and they want to drag you down with them. Be Kind and do the next right thing. Don't worry about the rest.

Rob, if you had committed the Unpardonable Sin, you wouldn't be worried about it. Do you think any of the lost worries about things like God and salvation? No, they don't. If they think about it at all, they run around investigating different ways to salvation, and end up believing in reincarnation and other strange afterlife theories. If they really worried about salvation and Jesus Christ, they would be on their knees going to the source of salvation.

Many people think of different reasons why they cannot be saved despite of what The Scriptures say. Believe me, you are not alone in this. They just can't accept that salvation is that "easy". It seems easy anyway, and it is for God's Children. You might be put through the fire to strengthen your faith, but it takes the faith as small as a mustard seed. And, even that small amount of faith is a gift from God. I would advise you to put away doubts of salvation every time the doubts pop up. It's something of a habit thing. When you start feeling good, doubts pop up. We are told to not depend on feelings, but depend on the promise of God. Really, try it. Every time doubts come up, ask Christ to rebuke Satan for you and thank Him for doing it. He has promised to hear the prayers of His people. It may seem like The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale; however, we have to depend on Christ and Christ alone. We cannot continue doubting the promises of God and grow in maturity of the Christian life. God won't kick us to the curb, but we might fail to grow and that isn't a good thing.

Enissophobia. The fear of having committed the unpardonable sin. Its quite common. I only know this term because I had it.

Thank you, its just a deep issue with me and my fears that I resisted the Spirit for too long. I do believe he can be resisted too much, in fact to the point that he ceases to strive with you.

“For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it…But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles…” (Galatians 1:13, 15-16)

Here, the Apostle Paul admits to having resisted the Lord. Peter also, even as a follower, denied Christ. I have also resisted God. But this is the wonder of the gospel of Christ! “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 6:23), “No one is righteous, not even one,” (Romans 3:10), “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

I believe the devil is working hard to drive a wedge between you and God! But what does the Lord say about him? “There is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44) Satan wants you to believe that it is too late. “You resisted too long,” he says. But he is lying! Do not listen to his words; do not listen to the ramblings of his false messengers. Instead, listen to the Word of God!

“Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 2:2). Forget what is in the past and cling to God. “Press on!” as Paul said to the Philippians.

I have another question for you. You say that you have resisted for too long; but why do you think you have persisted, even until now, to know the truth? I believe it is because you are hungry for the bread of Life! Would you read John 6:22-71? Here, Jesus is explaining to the people that he is the bread that comes down from heaven. As the manna was for the Israelites in the desert, Jesus is our spiritual nourishment. But I want you to notice this verse: “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.” (verse 44) What does this verse mean to you? I think you have held on, despite the lies of the enemy, because God is calling you.

Please understand that I understand your fear. God can, and will, release you from that fear, because perfect love casts away every fear. Will you let him? Know that I am praying for you!

Because He Lives,
John
