Yes, but what else also? Matter in what spacetime and laws? Jesus had a body that exhibited traits of both physical and spiritual after He rose from the dead. Just because we see some hydrogen or something doesn't mean all we think it means in deep space.
I still can't believe you are ok with a God who is putting things out there for us to see...that aren't what they look like, despite...looking exactly what they look like. Precisely. Does that really not bother you, that he's messing with you? God must crack himself up.
Man's wisdom is embodied in science, to a large degree. What 'it' knows' or can do, or uses as a guideline or criteria or claims can be referred to as having to do with science. Science does have a method, and only covers certain things. There are claims all the time from science or in the name of science, or however you prefer to word it.
Science covers certain things...true...but the realm of that expands daily. Whilst the domain of science concerned only things that were very much terrestrial, well, religion (and particularly Christianity) was
thrilled. It said "gee, you're showing us how glorious God's creation is. Thank you!", and funded the scientists, and gave them housing and clothing and didn't, well, you know, torture and burn them at the stake and stuff.
But then scientists realized that there was more to it than that, and religion might be telling some...well, porkie pies about whether, you know, the Earth went around the Sun or the Sun went around the Earth and things like that. So religion got its panties all in a twist - because as we all know, religion only makes money when it can claim to be the inerrant truth, and with that supposed "truth", threaten people with burning in a lake of eternal fire if they don't cough up, and as we all know, altars have to be made of gold and gold isn't cheap.
Initially, they just burned the scientists. Because fire
is cheap.
But now, they can't do that any more. So they've changed strategies, realizing that science is now a very very very very hard subject and most people just don't care when they have to pay the rent at the end of the month. Most people are...scientifically speaking....dumb. Relatively speaking of course, people aren't stupid, but how many people here can define "Lagrangian" without looking it up? Not many. That's ok. But just know, if you don't understand this stuff, you're missing out one of the most beautiful pictures ever that tells you more about you than anything you've heard about you.
If you believe in God, then to deny that that deity could have created a universe of colossal proportions with something as phenomenal as the mathematical underpinnings we know now to be essentially true (with some gaps)...and instead claim a special little fishbowl universe just put specially here for our pathetically selfish species...then you've reduced your deity to the McDonalds of theistic entities....a creator of a slightly unimpressive universe with little point for a squabbling, petty species that is completely ruining its environment.
