Sounds like it would not be too difficult...I agree with that assessment. Hopefully they can make a move to a Scriptural church.

Christ is the central theme of the Word; and exegesis is to get the meaning from the text.
However, reading meaning into the text: this is eisegesis, the opposite of exegesis.
I think they are in the US South. The phrase 'Bible belt' comes to mind...Hopefully there is at least one church locally that is in such a case.
Try John 14.6...
PS: Great avatar photo of you guys.![]()
Sounds like you guys likely read the Bible at home and pray together: essential.
So did you guys commit matrimony recently?![]()

Yep. We live there as well. This is where much false teaching takes place. The belt needs some tightening.
Yeah we got married in March. She and I teach the youth Sunday school together, and there's good theological discussions at home. I have to keep myself from getting overly-passionate though, and speak softer for her to hear me though.![]()

Bible belt is becoming more like a "church belt" because the Bible is starting to go missing!
To me, a local church is a group of folk that are baptised believers, meeting for prayer, fellowship and breaking of bread, who love divine truth (Acts 2.42). It does not have to be a megachurch of hundreds. It may be 5 or 6 ppl in borrowed premises.
Were you guys married at the same church that you go to now? I guess for some this would be an emotional pull.Yeah we got married in March. A guy in court said to the judge: God is my advocate. The judge replied: You need the services of an advocate who is better known in this part of North America. That's it right there. With the current events of our PC culture this may become the shape of a true church across the board. Many churches are simply PC outlets. When faced with the true God of Scriptures they hope that the God who is revealed in Scripture is not in heaven when they get there.

Lol. That reminds me of this: A young man was attending a church for the first time and everything the preacher said got an 'amen'! from him as he was a newly converted person.
An old man in front of him became agitated with him. He happened to be a deacon and wasn't fond of his 'amen's'!
Soon the deacon turned around and said 'We don't do that around here'! to which the young man replied 'I can't help it, I found Jesus'! (I know, not real good theology).
To that the deacon retorts; 'Well, you didn't find Him here!'
This was in another thread:
A man and his wife arrived at a church, and a guy at the door said: You can't come in here with tattoos.
So the man and his wife went out and waited in their car in the parking lot, until the person arrived, who had invited the man to be the preacher for the day.

But of course it's Biblical doctrine that really matters.
