Tie-Dye

Okay - I just spent the afternoon tie-dying t-shirts and pillowcases with 20 or so kids.  It was a lot of fun.  Though my hands are quite colorful!  It happened to be the last day of art class for our homeschool group and we had so much fun I thought we should do a project here at home.

What is the coolest thing you tie-dyed (or would like to) and what would you suggest we make?  I was thinking about sheets, a couch cover complete with pillow covers (and painting the walls to match LOL).

Suggestions?

yea tie died bed sheets and table cloths are pretty funkadellic. Ive actually been wanting to try that for awhile but never got roun to doing it... tsk tie dye your walls and your house will be the next site to film Austin Powers

LOL - I guess that would be a little overboard.

Aside from house improvements I was thinking white denim jeans and a couple of matching t-shirts. Maybe a bucket hat or two. I'm half scared to even start - we tend to be messy since my middle child and I are clutzes!!!!

Hey!!! I like that! I can do a couch cover, pillow covers, curtains... My whole front room would be wild. My kids friends would flip, but then I found out last night that I'm "a cool mom". LOL

Maybe I should try one of the kids bedrooms first...

I love tie-dying!

Whenever I stain a white shirt, which happens a lot, I just tie-dye it, and it's good to go

I think a tie-dyed fishing hat would be way cool, not to mention socks, and I think the jeans idea would be really cool. Tie-dye everything!

I've never tie-dyed before but it sounds like fun! any tips for a newbie who is interested in getting started with it?

I saw a pic of a shirt tie-dyed with red and white stripes and a patch of blue in the corner with white stars. I thought that was so cool.
