  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A coworker who verbally threatened me several times a while back recently threatened to "put [another coworker] to sleep" last week. HR doesn't seem terribly concerned about any of the incidents. Please pray for all of us, because it sounds like only a movement of God Himself will help. Going to work every single day wondering if this will be the day he actually follows through on his word doesn't exactly make life enjoyable.

Thanks in advance.

Let your love light shine, be cautious but be kind when you can ask him how he's doing on occasion because clearly he is a miserable person due to some issues he is having in life. Offer him a snack or a Dr.Pepper or something sometime and that will throw him off and help coals upon his head. Most of all pray for him and tell the LORD what you feel and ask the Lord for wisdom and counsel concerning this person. Be as wise a serpent and as gentle as a dove as the Bible tells us.

This can be a good opportunity to learn from the LORD if you deal with it in the way the LORD would want you to. Seek counsel from the elders at church or your pastor also but most of all study the Bible on how to deal with people like this.

a great resource for you would be
gotquestions.org which is a fantastic site for understanding and you can even submit a personal question and get a personal response from a qualified Christian counselor or pastor.

I'll pray for your circumstance. This man clearly needs love as he is clearly hurting somewhere deep inside and doesn't know how to channel his anger, he is lost and you can help him.

I know this is hard for you as I have been there myself and wish I had done things differently in the past when dealing with people like this. You have a great opportunity here to grow in the LORD.

Dear Lord, I pray for your hand of protection on this man and his coworkers, and open all eyes to whatever truth behind these threats exists. In Christ's Name, Amen.

I pray that God would act in this situation and protect you from the coworker. I pray that this company would take your safety seriously and make sure you have a positive work environment.

There's a time to pray, but there's a time to act. If HR is not doing anything, you all should call the police.

An update: another coworker recently had a post-it attached to his stack of work that had a stick figure drawing of him with a noose around its neck. HR continues to excuse and lessen all of this. Someone suggested filing a complaint with the EOCC, but I hear that takes a while.

Pray for all of us.

I couldn’t be sure from your post if it was just you and one other coworker who were being threatened. But there is strength and numbers. I would approach those in charge with as big of group as I could get. You might want to mention how low morale in an office is not good for business.

You might want to mention how someone getting punched out certainly wouldn’t be good for the business’ reputation.

Check about the laws in your state. But it very well may be that the things he is doing would be illegal because they are menacing to others. This is another thing that you could mention to your higher ups. They would probably prefer for the police to be left out of things if they can handle it themselves.

I pray all will work out very well for you and your coworkers.

Dear Lord,
You are the Lord of Hosts and the Lord of armies, and our stronghold as you wrote in Psalm 46. Open the eyes of others and bring this threatening coworker to justice, quickly, before someone gets hurt!
In Christ’s Name,
Amen
