  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm sure that at 10 past midnight I should be slightly more tired than I am!!!!! But no, I can't get to sleep-again!!! Should of come up at 9pm when I actually was tired!
I get like that on the weekends. I work early shifts on the weekends and they never fail to kill my sleep cycle.

I read in an article recently that women are naturally "bad" sleepers. Oh joy. :| lol
That explains a great many things!

I wonder if part of it is that as moms we are more atune to waking if our children do in the night?!

I would venture it has something to do with it for those of us with children. I was quite impressed with hubby last night - for this reason, actually. He ninja'ed the baby out of her crib when she started crying so it wouldn't wake me up. I woke up 15 minutes later b/c I heard her "talking" to him. :D

Ahh-how lovely for you. My dh is good at getting ds settled back down but he never wakes up when dd cries lol

Sometimes I wish I wasn't programmed to wake up lots in the night. Last night was a rare night when neither woke until dd did just as dh was getting ready for work. But I still woke several times in the night

I don't usually like to wish my time away, but I just want to be done with tomorrow morning already. Not knowing the end result is slowly making me crazy - as is the simple fact that I can't seem to get worked up over this and keep meditating on God providing and having an answer for it all - when that SHOULD be comforting to me. I'm a mess. :sorry:

lol, that's cute.

When I get to sleep, I SLEEP, as in dogs can be kicking up a huge barking session, never hear them, thunderstorm can be going all night, never hear it. But one of my kids (who are teens now) can come in and whisper "mom," I am awake.

((hugs)) so hard. How far from home is she? NOT looking forward to this for our fam next year.
:(

Thanks, hugs back. She is not too far, about 1 hour 15 minutes away. She does come home every other weekend. She went three weekends without coming home once and she told us that was too long...so sweet... so every other weekend works well.

That sounds so nice...close enough to pop home often...and its where her heart wants to be. So sweet. You are blessed! :)

My son is deciding what he wants to do. One option is to give up baseball (his love) and go to a school about an hour from home. Course, he is getting home tonight from a big time camp, where he got to train with Tim Lincecum's (Sf Giant) trainer, talked with a scout for the Angel's and was told that a four year school (that is about 2.5 hours from our place) might be interested in him for short stop...so...I'm not thinking he will really want to give up on bball. LOL. We'll see.

Good for him. That's awesome.

I'm mildly depressed about this weekend's football. Neither of my favourite teams will be playing thanks to this last weekend. I may watch the Packers game because my Dad likes that team a lot. Ah well. Ahem. Go Steelers.

YAY! I know..and thanks. We are excited for him and just keep encouraging him to pray for discernment for what God wants his next step to be. (though I'd like him to do things *my* way! LOL)

Sorry about your favs not making it.

You could vote for the Packers to honor your dad, AND because Aaron is an ex student of mine.:) I babysat him and his brothers when they were just yiddle peanuts. He used to call me "Miss C" :D I'm not old or nothin'. LOL
His mom was in our wedding...and then the family moved so I lost contact.
:(
I always respected what a fine job they did raising their boys to be humble, strong, confident in the Lord young men.

So, with all that in mind...I'll graciously ignore the "Go Steelers" comment. LOL. Just keddin'.

Agree with McScribe, good for him, that's awesome. If he is offered for from the school 2.5 hours away.. that is still relatively close on the grand scheme of things :)
