Hello again people ,

I know I go on and on about this , and its kinda a taboo subject , but I wanted to know what younger people thought about it.

here goes - what's you're opinion on sexuality ( just straight, bi , gay , no gender arguments )

I just wanted to see what you lot thought , and have a change from the often repetitive answers of the older gen. ( no offence to them :D)

the way i see it homosexuality is a sin, but that doesn't mean we need to go around treating homosexuals like dirt. we should treat them the same as any other person in sin, with love. many people have been brought out of homosexuality because christians didn't reject them, but welcomed them with open arms. hate the sin, love the sinner. God loves them no matter what, He just doesn't like what they do.

I won't vote for it, or support it..

However, that does not make me 'homophobic'. I'm not afraid of homosexuals, nor do I hate them. In fact, I love and care for their well-being because God loved me even in my own sins. I want them to find Christ, but I acknowledge the Bible condemns homosexual activity. There's also the excuse that they're just 'born that way' and we should accept that. However, what if I murdered people and I claimed I liked it? Would that be okay if I just said that I was 'born that way' and people should accept I like to murder people? That excuse is plausible. It's something that bothers me when supporters use the 'born that way' phrase.
But if being 'born that way' is true, then they have no right questioning my beliefs either or trying to change the belief's of society through intimidation in schools and media, or through aggressive tactics. Now, it's like, "accept it or be a cast-out and never have any friends. Or even lose your job." This is something that bothers me. It's injustice.

Read the first chapter of Romans.
I Corinthians 6:9
I use a KJV Bible

Even at the start of Genesis, you will see the pattern God set up for man-kind's relationships: man and woman. He did not create an Adam and Steve, or a Madam and Eve. Neither was there a Gary and Joseph, or anything of the sort in the lineage of Jesus. This is the unnatural affection Romans is talking about in the first chapter.

Like I said, I do not hate homosexuals. I wouldn't mind having to do a school project with one because it might give me an opportunity to share Jesus. I'm not homophobic, because I'm not afraid of them. But like I said--I will not support their agenda or vote for it. I can certainly do that without hating them because of the love Christ gave to me. I agree with what ghag said 17 about loving them, and to hate the sin but love the sinner.

Sorry if this post is long.

Thanks for the replys people , genuinely.

Now though for my counter points , and my guns are mostly turned on Ialive ( sooooory :) )

Now I do see where you're coming form with the murder example , and its one of the better " its a choice " back Ups I've seen.

But , I think its difficult for you to say its a choice to feel attracted to members of your own sex when you've never done so yourself ( so I imagine )

Do you think I woke up one day and though " wow I think I'll decide to like guys today " - of course not. It just happened. I didn't like it but I can't stop it. I really don't feel its a choice when you didn't even think of bisexuality until you're
actually paricpating in it.

But still , it is beyond anybodys knowledge here on earth to truly know if it is wrong or right.

God bless :)

Ialive , I can see this turning into a heated argument between us , and that's not what either of us probably want.

Lets leave it at ; you're a traditional christian , I'm rather liberal. We're always going to disagree on some things. This is one.

thanks for you replys , they were way better than the standard ones some of the ...ahem..older members give.

God bless :)

The great majority of homosexuals really don't care about what others think about them (same with interracial couples) they simply want to live their lives and not be harassed by others who know better.

The world is becoming more tolerant towards homosexuality. While Muslims are lagging behind for obvious reasons, I have found most Christians to be fully accepting of this lifestyle. Who knew that a religion based on love and tolerance would eventually come to support all downtrodden minorities (i.e. the LGBT)

its proven that sexuality is something you are mostly born with
so im pansexual and its just who i am, just like being trans or liking pink
its not a sin, how could something so harmless as love and sex be sinful

on the murder thing, society accepts sexual sadists but condemns anything that isnt consensual, same for any murder based paraphilia, we accept that a person may feel desires and urges but condemn expression of those urges in a way that harms others

Homosexuality is most definitely a sin, there is no denying it.
If you claim to be a christian, a person who believes all of scripture, then you can't also claim that homosexuality isn't a sin.
I myself have dealt with same sex attractions since I was about 8 or 9 years old. But God, has delivered me from those and I do have to make a conscious decision not to live or think like that everyday, Jesus has completely won the battle against the enemy, all we have to do is believe in Him and live in that victory He has won for us.

If you are struggling with same sex attractions and know that its a sin and that Jesus doesn't want that for you, please reply to me and I will do everything I can to help. My purpose in life is to help those in the same situation I was in.

Homosexuality is not, and will never be, okay in God's eyes. He created marriage strictly between a man and a woman. No matter how much the bible is distorted or how much campaigning goes on, it is God's truth.

However, it doesn't give us any right to hate Christians. God loves everyone equally, and people who have committed sins more shocking than homosexuality, such as murder, have turned to God before. As Christians, we don't accept homosexuality, but we still love homosexual people. God can still use them to fulfil his purpose.

Just to be clear and straightforward I am a Christian and I believe homosexuality is a sin. But more importantly I want to address the huge fallacy I see in most pro-gay debaters. Let us for the sake of argument assume that everybody who is gay was born with a sexual attraction to the same gender, that it is not something they acquire. How does a disposition justify an action? Just because you are born with these emotions does not mean they are okay. Humans are fallen creatures and just because we are born with something or think something is okay certainly does not make it right. If I was born a sociopath with no regard for the emotions of others nobody would say well he was born that way so it must be okay because that would be ridiculous of course it's not okay so why do we treat homosexuality differently? Why do we say well he was born gay so God must have made him gay so it's okay, when scripture says clearly that it is not okay?

still around? I'm intrigued as to why you asked this. You seemed to WANT people to affirm homosexuality like you do. Might I ask why?

I am glad you're being polite, though :)
