  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've learned that, provided both people are older than 18, age means very little. Granted, age difference is more significant the younger a couple is, but it still comes down to the individuals.

Society would say that women mature faster and therefore should date older men until the age of 25, but I haven't found that to be true. How do they define maturity? Social maturity? Physical maturity? I'm afraid those are the only things they measure. They don't even consider spiritual maturity, because we are living in a naturalistic world and what we can't see we don't believe or take into consideration.

What are your thoughts on guys dating older girls or girls dating younger guys?
Its gonna depend on the individuals and the societies in which they live. I for one will not date someone my age or older simply because, apart from my baldness, I look relatively younger than my age. I have never felt comfortable around the 30 something women, but thats just me. I have had the opportunity in Asia to date gals as young as 18 and on occasion have done so but usually we are geared a little bit differently so I prefer women in their mid to late 20's. I honestly don't think age is an issue unless you are in a culture like in America where it's made and issue.

I don't know why, but it just seems like it'd be really cool to go out with a girl older than me, even if there was just a year's difference. :p
Yeah at 18 I could see that. But trust me when you hit my age it'll lose its luster.

I have to agree. As you said, it's up to the individuals as far as what they want to do.
I am very strong on finding someone who has spiritual maturity. It's still hard, to this day, for me to find that in someone..but I won't quit on my search.
I really appreciate the feedback.:)
