What philosophy do you disagree with?

Maybe I missed the point - I got that they were suggesting that waiting until more maturity and self control is established is better than hooking up while young and irresponsible. Was there more to it?

I was sent this video by my Christian friends through Facebook. They told me that the purpose of the video was to dissuade having any sort of romantic relationships at all until the age of around 25-30 because of the reasons you mentioned. I don't think that's a healthy attitude to have because (1) this philosophy reduces the number of women in the dating pool and (2) the purpose of dating is to meet many different people in order to determine who is the "one"; simply waiting and staying with your first pick is not a (statistically speaking, anyway) optimal strategy.

is pretty extreme. I'd be inclined to side with you. I'm not an authority on healthy dating, didn't do any dating at 24 and younger that wasn't entirely carnal in aim.

What a sweet guy. How nice of him to wait. They should have a sequel where the girl goes to a party and hooks up with mr right now.

I understand the idealism but pragmatically I know way too much to support this kind of thing.

There is a reason why so many cultures advocate marrying while you are younger.

I sorta agree with both, not rushing into anything, but also not waiting, the higher ammount of divorces with Christians is often attributed to kids rushing to get married and have kids right out of school when they arn't ready yet. But at the same time, waiting for ever and chosing first one means your likly to make rash decisions too.

Sounds like the protagonist of the film has some serious psychological issues he needs to work through. I'm not sure what the issue is, a phobia of women, fear of change, perhaps bad experiences with his parents, but it really seems like he could use some counseling.
