Another thing I have to fight is self-pity. It doesnt matter how bad I think things are for me, I have a roof over my head, food in my tummy, so many blessings from the Lord. When I look to the hurricane zone, and Pakistan, and the tsunami places, I can only thank God for the many many blessings He has given me. Praying for those with so much less than me has really helped me to worry less about myself.

I can't get a guy because I have manic depression and they think that makes me a nutter or like others will the illness. I'm pretty stable most of the time, I do have my bad moments but I'm able to control them. I also having a learning disablity which keeps me from getting a decent job or meeting people. I have a hard time talking to strangers and I can't do math good at all, I'm only good at counting.


I live in Hurricane zone. I been through one storm a year since 2001. I live in hurricane zone because I live with my mom and I can't move out right now. She loves it down in Kemah.

Well, I suppose I have a real mild form of it. I have met many with the some disorder who were out of control and down right scary, I also met some who were very sane. I live a pretty normal life, just sometimes I get over depressed or really restless. I'm learning to have better control of my emotions and what I say. I do have a really bad sleeping problem though, I only sleep 3 hours a night sometimes.

Hello! I see that we have gotten quite a few new memebers. WELCOME and I am glad that you all came. PLEASE do not worry about your sensitivity. It burns me when make fun of us. WE ALL are unique with a WONDERFUL trait from Jesus. Imagine how SENSITIIVE He is.

I think I can get a bit too sensitive sometimes.
I've got a councilor trying to help me to take more control of it though.

That's good to hear! I've been "on the couch" a few times myself. My wife is more sensitive than I am and we have both grown a lot in being able to not get too emotional when a problem pops up. I can't imagine we will ever be "perfect" (whatever that is!) but we can always get a little better.
