So, my sister in law had this cat that was getting really really old. She had to put it down on Monday. She wanted to bury the cat, and because she lives in an apartment (and lacks a place where she can do it), she called my wife on Sunday night to ask if we could bury it in our back yard.
My wife said ok - of course.
She puts the cat down on Monday as scheduled, and brings it over to the house. Unfortunately though it's been storming for the past few days over here, so burying the cat on Monday wasn't going to work. But now they've got this dead cat to deal with and store until the weather lets up and the ground dries.
What's the idea? Well, we have this deep freezer in the garage where we store meat/etc. Might as well put it in there...lol
My wife asked me to pick up something to act as a casket (prior to the freezing of the cat) - and I bought this little pine box about the right size of a cat. Out of curiosity though I took a look at what kind of box the vet put the cat into...and it's a totally different shape.
So, now I've got this frozen cat that I'm supposed to be burying in the next couple of days that likely isn't going to fit into the box I bought. I'm also not all that hot on the idea of "thawing it out" - lol
Hmmmm.
