As my username implies, I am an Atheist and have been for 7 years now. Yes, that means that I have no belief in any god or gods whatsoever. I used to be a Theist, specifically a Christian, until I realized that there is no scientific evidence proving the existence of any deity while the amount of scientific evidence against said deities is in great abundance. Add on the hypocrisy I discovered in the bible along with many other factors and soon I began to find it foolish (no offense) to believe in any type of god. The way I see it, god doesn't fit in with the logic and rationality of my reality. Feel free to question me, debate me, whatever, that's what I'm here for. I promise to keep it clean, I do have morals you know

It's nice to feel welcome as an Atheist in a Christian forum. I was looking at the rules of a different Christian forum (ChristianForums.net)and the guidelines didn't seem very welcoming of anybody who isn't a Christian. I look forward to many peaceful debates and regular conversations with the Christians here and apparently sharing some views with other Atheists on here as well. Yes K9, a welcome and a smiley is nice too, thanks and I'll be sure to add you as a friend trt and anyone else worthy

Do you have morals that are relative to circumstance, or do you have morals that are fundamental, if so, how are your morals fundamental?

Keeping in mind you can't have both, that's illogical

there's plenty of disproof in the existence of God, the lack of proof being one of them. here's another example of disproof:

"Logical proof time. God can't think. Think about it. An omniscient being would know everything and as such could consider nothing. To think about something means asking questions. Something that knows everything has no questions to ask – it knows already. Ergo it cannot consider. The result of its consideration would already be known.

This basically means that god can't decide. If god can't decide there's no point in asking it do anything. This also means that god has no free will. It knows in advance what it will choose and so it can't choose. It just follows a preset pattern of action.

Of course, these things that god can't do also mean that god is not omnipotent. In fact god is powerless, completely so, because god has no free will."

my morals come from common sense, it isn't hard to figure out the difference between right and wrong with an intellectual mind. You don't need God or religion to tell you what's right or what's wrong, right and wrong can be found, like I said, using common sense. unfortunately, not everyone (murders, rapists, junkies and all other people considered wrong) has that ability of intellectual, logical and rational common sense. I would say my morals are circumstantial based on logical and rational thought.
