RICE PORRIDGE

4 dl (deciliter) water .. = a little less than 2 cups
1,5 dl rice = 2/3 cup (the round rice that is often used in Chinese cooking can be used, if you can't buy rice for making porridge)
1 l (liter) milk = 4 cups
1 teaspoon salt

Boil the rice with the water for abt. 10 min. Add the milk and let it boil for abt. 1 hr. If it is a bit too thick for you, just add a little more milk. Whole milk is the best.

Served with sugar, cinnamon and real butter.
Many Norwegians eat it for lunch every Saturday. It is an old tradition in Norway. Often eaten with a little salt cured meat on the side.
