It was March 12, 2007 when I heard that my Grandmother was not doing so good. She was getting old as she was born in 1929! Nothing was physically wrong with her, no name sickness not even as much as a cold. She was just getting to that age.
My Mom took an emergency flight out of here (Tampa, Fl) to Washington DC only to drive 3 hours more to get to her. She got to her bedside on March 12, 2007 around midnight and just hugged her. I was unable to go because of flight costs.
My Mom called us and said Granny said hello to her and smiled and kissed her and told her to go to the Hotel where she had already book reservations. So naturally my Mom did. The next morning she got up and Granny seemed to have been doing remarkablly better. She was walking outside and all around, eating, and taking her medicines. Wednesday the 14th came around and she was doing even better. Then March 15th was the day my Mom was to come home. My Grandmother had made a 180 degree turn around and seemed to have taken a great turn. My Mom bargained on changing her flight to come home the next day but figured Nah she is doing alright I am going on. Well, my Mom came home her flight got in around 9:15 that night. We got home about 10:00p or so. The phone rang not even 10 minutes after we walked in the door and my Grandmother had passed.
She was not only an amazing woman of God but she had amazing courage and perserverence. She had told me for the whole 20 years of my life that she wanted to live to see me get married, but she never did. I finally told her March 15th before my Mom left that it was alright to go be with Jesus and that is what she did. She left behind a amazing life and an amazing family. She taught me that the road may be rough but the end outcome is stronger than the road is rough. I couldnt imagine any other Grandmother but her. She was a rock and she was an amazing woman. She outlived 3 of her own children, and 3 husbands. She truely was a Grandmother of iron! I will always miss her because she really had a large impact on my life. She taught me everything I know today and I cannot give thanks to anyone but her. I wish I could of seen her one more time. But God had other plans, and now she is in Heaven watching over me!
The day she passed she told me

So the next morning I walked outside and I saw a humming bird. It was an overwhelming peace!Jenny, I love you and I always will, just because I go see Jesus today or in 10 years I will always be your Granny. Everytime you see a Humming bird think of me.
