There is no such thing, nor is it necessary, for marriage to be in heaven. You will of course know your two wives but I am sure it will make no difference. TI am sure there will be a lot going on besides that little subject.

Matthew...22 vs 25,, Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26. Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27. And last of all the woman died also.
28. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Thanks for the quotes, Bro. I'm just thinking if one takes part in marriage, are you and your wife not a unit of some sort? I'm not saying you share the same soul or anything .I would just think that in Heaven the bond would still exist. I'm just not too sure if those Biblical quotes are to be taken literally. Any thoughts?

hey andreas! :)

I believe sfc in right on target. I think those passages are indeed literal and so marriage does not exist in heaven, which is in part why the saints take vows of celibacy; to not only give their entire life and time to God, but to emmulate and experience heaven on earth in every form posssible.

It is also an imitation of Christ to remain celibate, as Christ was. If we have one gauge to catch a glimpse of what heaven would be, it would certainly be Christ. :)

One of the purposes of marriage is to serve as a symbol for Christ and the His Bride, the Church. Certainly this purpose is no longer needed in heaven.

I have a special bond with my wife here on earth, and I can not image my feelings for her to ever change. Perhaps in heaven, we will share that same bond with all Christians.
