  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was watching television with my children, and an advertisement played for "disney eggs" (you can see it if you look it up on the youtube). My children then asked me if we could get by some of these "eggs". I don't know why, but it made me feel profoundly uncomfortable; so much so that I prayed for some time that the feeling in my heart wasn't an omen. Was it just an overeaction?

I'm not sure why, but Disney is selling eggs. Each egg is stamped with a different Disney character and if you get the additional egg mold, you can make the eggs into little mickey mouse Disney icons. Then gobble them up. Weird. [Jezebel]

Disney Eggs Are Completely Pointless But Kids Will Probably Want Them

Nothing is safe from Disney's grasp: Disney Farm Fresh Eggs are eggs with drawings of Disney characters' heads printed on them. That's it. Crack the egg and the Disney fun is gone, unless you have a Mickey-shaped egg mold, in which case you can use that to stretch the Disney theme and fry an egg that will barely resemble the plastic-looking one in the commercial. StitchKingdom.com points out that Japan has been sticking Mickey's head onto eggs for years, not that that makes it any less pointless.
Not sure what the manufacturer's price is, but if you do find yourself addicted to eggs decorated with images of Mickey and friends, you can buy loads of coupons on eBay. Save 50¢ per carton! Sweet!

No kidding! Looks like more work & expense to me.

Those commercials targeting kids really tick me off anyway.

So BillyBobSkern,
What disturbed you so much it threw you into prayer? Besides the stupidity of it all I mean. ;)

Omen of what??

i'm not sure what to think of them. is Disney really that desperate for money? an other marketing plot? corporate eggs, that's crazy. my friend tell me she saw them at our grocery store, that's a freakishly long distance for eggs to travel :| and they make it sound like they invented the egg, so wierd.

my kids are not in any danger of finding those on our table. we get ours directly from a farmer, organic. and maybe this summer we'll have our own chicken and eggs.

Disney ain't cheap. I find it galling with the economy & rising food prices that they suck the kiddies in like this. And you know they are charging way too much for them. Plus those handy dandy molds. I'd simply say no to the wee ones.

Best kind of eggs. There is a real difference as compared to the grocery store variety.

my folks took me to disney world when I was a little kid, my mom still jokes about how EVERYTHING was in the shape of Micky Mouse heads
what is bothering you about the eggs?
that it is a marketing ploy with only greed as a motivator?
that is kinda disgusting, but I have seen that kinda stuff for my entire life so I have acclumated to this type of unfiltered averice

A bit of history on Disney- the corporation used its oj line (Donald Duck Orange Juice) in order to trick farmers into selling their property for Disney World in Orlando.

Who knows what the purpose for the eggs are ? Maybe they want to buy Planned Parenthood or go into the nuclear arms business.

But, LOL, Disney has always been big on ensuring its future as a conglomerate and I am sure this little side business has much to do with the economy. I would rather they put their logos on Jeff Gordon's NASCAR than an egg to be honest with you.

Well we can look on the bright side, it would help kids who need to eat protein and the parents are having a hard time getting it in them, to have fun with making eggs.

I know it would get my daughters interest, and she would think it was kwl, to cook eggs that looked like that.

I don't see the harm, they have round egg molds you can purchase all over the place. So why not a fun one for the kids?

But like was said before, just put three eggs together, and there you have it.

Kids will probably lose interest after about a day anyway. I hated eggs as a kid, runny yolks still gross me out. It's just another novelty item, one of many.
LOL. My daughter is not fond of the runny yolks either. She prefers scrambled, or I have to break the yolk when cooking them for her.

I like the yolk for dipping my toast. he He.

BillyBob,

How many kids do you have being only 20 years old according to another post? Especially because in that post you also state that you struggle with same-sex attraction. That is even more odd that Disney eggs.
