This is normal in rap music. This is promoted. But go ahead. Keep screaming black lives matter.

Disgusting.
The problem is in thinking that there is just ONE black culture.

What many people think of as black culture ... is just the way that some blacks choose to live their lives.

All blacks don't enjoy ... or promote rap.

Some blacks like jazz. Some like pop. Some like rock. Some like classical. Some like country. Some like a variety. Such is the beauty of living in America. Lots to choose from ...

And blacks choose to live their lives as freely as anyone else in the country.

Blacks lives won't matter until it matters to the Black community. People will not respect the black community until it starts showing some self respect.
As has been said, ... the black community is not a monolith.

The majority of blacks have self-respect.

Some minority of blacks, similar to such minorities in other people groups, ... surely need to evidence MORE self-respect.

Regardless of that, if law-abiding, self-respecting blacks have to expect worse treatment by authorities just because they are black, then that's a problem.

Heck, even Republican Tim Scott said that he had been stopped by police 16 times ...

What you are describing is an outlier within a dominant culture. Every culture has a dominant culture that leads to cultural and societal norms. In turn, this leads to social pressure to act a certain way within your own culture. Dominant black culture within America, is ghetto culture. My husband is black and he would be considered an outlier within his own culture because he does not act ghetto. Often times, by those within his own culture would he be labeled "white" because he does not act the way those around him expect him to. Black culture has many positives to it, like any culture. But drugs, gang violence, toting guns, illegal activity, violence in general are all dominant aspects within black ghetto culture. And it's a problem that the culture itself needs to fix. Screaming victimhood all day long won't change anything when you can look at the culture and clearly see the issues that are not being addressed.

This music video is a perfect example of this. How can anyone make an excuse for this? It's disgusting, as I've stated originally.
You want to make the statement that not all black people are the same, yet contradict yourself by saying that all black people are victims to an inherently racist system.

I'm white and have been pulled over by the police multiple times and justifiably because I used to drive pretty recklessly. In all the years my husband has been driving, he's only been pulled over one time and it's because he was speeding at night. The officer let him off with a warning and he didn't even get a ticket. So your example holds little weight if there's plenty of black people who do not have issues with the police.

"B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but someone said something naughty in a rap song!"

Does this justify what happened to George Floyd?
Ringo
This is just "something naughty"? Did you even watch the video before making such an ignorant comment?

If you're referring to 3 black men being shot dead, then having these rappers go to their grave sight with their photos, lie on top of their graves dissing them and pouring alcohol over their images as just being "naughty" proves what a real twisted view of reality you have.

When I stated "keep screaming black lives matter", I was referring to people like you who will excuse black on black crime but continue to cry racism and white supremacy when a white person kills a black person. Truth is, people like you prove you don't care about black lives. You evidently don't care about the 3 that died in this video here.

But from my experience, trying to reason with a professing marxist and so called "anti-fascist" usually goes nowhere. You've been indocrinated and deceived my friend. Praying you wake up to the truth around you.

Oh and this thread isn't about George Floyd, nor did anyone call what happened to him justifiable.

So terrible to be an anti-fascist and a Marxist.

Stop justifying police murder of unarmed Black men.

What does that have to do with Black Culture? I've known hundreds of blacks and have been around thousands and have never anything different than when around whites.

Thank you again for proving my point.

I hope everyone in this thread is paying close attention. What's happening in our culture today is called cultural marxism. Where marxism is, Christians will always be persecuted, tortured and killed for standing up for the truth. Don't think it's coming to the western world? It's already at the door. And it starts with radicalizing people like this.

At the top of this post, you describe the dominant black American culture as being "ghetto culture" but at the bottom of the post, you take issue with the claim that all black people are victims of a racist system.

Are you aware of the process by which so many blacks found themselves in urban ghettos?

If you're bringing up BLM, black on black crime, and police violence, then it may as well be about George Floyd. If you want to keep the discussion confined to the problems of gangster rap, then keep it there.

And lots of people - some of whom frequent this very message board - have described what happened to George Floyd as justifiable - because he was a violent criminal, because he was on drugs, because he was resisting, because he outweighed Chauvin by a considerable amount, etc.

Careful! Saying that means you believe we're to be colorblind, and that offends those who like to call people racist. Or maybe it just gives them another opportunity to do so.
The Problem with Color Blindness and How It Upholds Racism
One of the dumbest statements that I've heard, regarding race, is "I don't see color".

My best friend, and spiritual brother, is a black man. I see his color, my color, and others color. It just doesn't mean anything to me. I couldn't care less what color a person's skin color is. I just care what type of person they are.

That's another meaning of not seeing color. People that say that mean they don't see it as relevant, or take it into account when evaluating the person. It means seeing them as equal, but that's not good enough for their advocacy groups anymore. Now it's about equity instead of equality, and that means taking their color into account so they can receive special treatment. That's not a recipe for peace, and the past year has been a demonstration as to why it isn't.

You're trying to twist what I wrote into something of your own thinking.
I'm not twisting anything. You called them barbarians. You didn't say a minority of them are barbarians. You said it, own it.

You just can't help but show that racist element, can you. I heard this same BS, over and over, when I worked right smack dab in the middle of poor predominant black communities. The vast majority of the people I was surrounded by were good hard working family centered, friendly members of their community.

Yes, there were some bad people and there were killings but that doesn't take away from thousands of good people. I was never disrespected in the 20+ years that I worked amongst them.

Going by 2009 numbers, Chicago's violent crime rate was 17th among large cities:
List of United States cities by crime rate - Wikipedia

Why does Chicago get all of the attention and not majority-white cities like Albuquerque, Indianapolis, Anchorage, Nashville, or Minneapolis?

You know how those ghettos were created, don't you?
