I'm so freakin excited!!!!!

Some of you know that my brother is staying with us for a while until he can transfer his work out to Idaho.

Today I came home with the kids and Jason asked how church was, and I said good. As I was walking out of the room he said he was thinking of asking his girlfriend to go with him next week. I immediately came back into the room and asked as calmly as I could what church he was thinking of going to, and he said mine.

I can't even describe how much my spirit just SOARED!!!! This is the same guy who rolls his eyes when I read bible stories to the kids and calls it "fiction". Anything religious related has always shut his hearing off or solicited rude comments.

I couldn't help being even more excited that next Sunday is the church's big celebration with all the services gathering for one giant service outside with a pancake breakfast and music and activities. I'm SO excited!!!!! I told Jason that I was taking the kids, so maybe if his girlfriend can't come with maybe he'd be willing to come with me and the kids anyway? Maybe??? I'll wait until he has a chance to ask her before I try to wedge that door open even more ^_^

That is awesome...

I know this is unsolicited advice but I feel the need to give it anyway and if it is not helpful I apologize ahead of time. I am not sure what your relationship with your brother is like, but I know from experience how hard it is to talk to brothers and sisters about God, even if you are on pleasant terms there is a lot of that unsaid sibling stuff that keeps them from really hearing you. I think it would be wise for you to try and focus your conversations with his girlfriend and allow your brother to take the lead in what he talks to you about, if you try and jump in before he is ready he might head out the door... I can't imagine his girlfriend has the same baggage against you.

Praying for you... goodluck:)

No problem :) My brother has made his opinion on religion extremely clear for many, many years so that was territory I knew better than to tread on. A few weeks ago I invited him to come with me to my service but of course his answer was no. That's been the extent of my active persuasion in a very long time, if ever. If or when he feels ready to look into religion, he knows that I'm here to support him, which was made obvious today by his approaching me about attending. I'm very excited!!!

My brother works nights and he'd had a rough one at work so he didn't go with us. It was just as well though because this church event was outside where the bees are, and my daughter got stung in the face and my son freaked out and dumped orange juice all over himself. We were there all of 30 min before we got in the car and came home. This weekend the kids will be with their dad and my brother said he'd go to church with me :) I'll hold him to that, even if I have to drag him there in his boxers!
