Well read your bible but of course that makes it all too easy
I've read the Bible. I'm still asking you what part of it you think remotely points to CERN (or, as I suspect you mean, the LHC).

Right. And if I eat a watermelon, then I'm always going to have a watermelon inside me. Not to mention the dozens of pigs, chickens and turkeys I've eaten in my lifetime. Because nothing ever changes into anything else.

A proton doesn't "eat" an electron - it "captures" it, in an atomic orbital - thereby becoming a neutron. The electron does not magically disappear, nor is it consumed in the process. Your analogy does not even remotely fit the situation.

I'm sure you do. This is why particle physicists get Nobel Prizes and you're posting your theories in a web discussion forum.

Strawman after strawman.

Scientists once got Nobel prizes for discovering the milky-Way was the entire universe. How'd that turn out - despite the fact that all the scientists agreed it was well deserved???? They even published papers on it and were approved by all their peers. How'd those papers turn out in the end???

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_populum

"In argumentation theory, an argumentum ad populum (Latin for "appeal to the people") is a fallacious argument that concludes that a proposition is true because many or most people believe it: "If many believe so, it is so."

I don't see how any of this is occultic.

They are investigating how atoms and subatomic particles work and understanding how the universe works is thrilling to me.

Not exactly your own words, is it?

But I'll have a look.

Edit: It does indeed have a lot of scripture in it.

Of which ONE example supposedly was a scriptural "description" of the LHC.

Revelation is actually my favourite book in the Bible. I've read this verse plenty of times. I've also seen it interpreted to mean many different things by many different "experts". Some plausible, others more reaching. But honestly I can see nothing that suggests the LHC. Would you care to point out some specific bits and how they point to the LHC?

Hi justa. Did you see my post yesterday about electron capture?

I've read the Bible. I'm still asking you what part of it you think remotely points to CERN (or, as I suspect you mean, the LHC).

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."

And as we delve deeper into the structure of that matter - we find it inevitably leads us back to those high energy events and the energy of which all things are made.

To attempt to ignore what all things are made up of by ignoring science would be a disservice to all of the Gospel.

Um... that's good? I guess?

What's it got to do with the discussion?

Hi justa. Did you see my post yesterday about electron capture?

I read your post which has nothing to do with reality - yes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron_capture
"Following capture of an inner electron from the atom, an outer electron replaces the electron that was captured and one or more characteristic X-ray photons is emitted in this process. Electron capture sometimes also results in the Auger effect, where an electron is ejected from the atom's electron shell due to interactions between the atom's electrons in the process of seeking a lower energy electron state."

"The electron that is captured is one of the atom's own electrons, and not a new, incoming electron, as might be suggested by the way the above reactions are written."

So we can't even begin to discuss electron capture until we start discussing an entire atomic system, being as it takes an electron already present in the binding system - not new ones from outside.

You asked the question. Did you start a post without having any definite goal in mind??? By understanding those things that are made we come to an understanding of God. You asked, you received - and now you want to pretend you didn't ask or something???

No, it doesn't capture it. That's something you made up.

Scientists once got Nobel prizes for discovering the milky-Way was the entire universe.
Really? Who was awarded the Nobel prize for discovering that the Milky Way was the entire universe?

My question:

"I've read the Bible. I'm still asking you what part of it you think remotely points to CERN (or, as I suspect you mean, the LHC)."

Your "answer":

"Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understoodfrom what has been made, so that people are without excuse."

And as we delve deeper into the structure of that matter - we find it inevitably leads us back to those high energy events and the energy of which all things are made.

To attempt to ignore what all things are made up of by ignoring science would be a disservice to all of the Gospel."

What does your answer have to do with my question? I don't see it.

I didn't suggest otherwise about where the electron comes from. It occurs when the nucleus of an atom is particularly proton rich and transforming protons into neutrons helps to stabilise it.

You were saying about neutrons containing electrons which isn't the case - I explained and provided a diagram of electron capture and explained how charge and mass/energy is conserved in the event.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'discussing an entire atomic system'. Do you mean what happens to the atom after electron capture?

One of two outcomes is possible.

As a result of a proton becoming a neutron the atomic number of the atom is reduced by one meaning it becomes a different element. eg. Aluminium to Magnesium (13 protons to 12)

The most common outcome is that an electron from a higher energy level shell will drop down to replace the electron involved in the electron capture. The energy difference is released as x-rays. Because a proton (+1) and an electron (-1) have been transformed the overall charge of the atom remains neutral.

It's also possible that the Auger effect can occur. This is where the energy difference from a high energy electron moving to a lower energy shell is transferred to an outer electron which then escapes the atom, rendering it now a positive ion (having lost a -1 charge).

Hope this helps!

I am surprised that seeing we have several scientists here you aren't relating to CERN like as in my previous post
It has info given by top world scientists that can be read on several science sites - not just this one. Does their words and work not interest you?

Are you a scientist? I was talking about my previous post obviously you didn't watch
No, I didn't. Can you provide an actual quote from a CERN scientist that supports any of your claims?

Otherwise what "top world scientists" are you talking about? Could you name them?
