This is a "technical" question

I have an Emmerson TV that is 4-5 years old.

It doesnt seem to have a hookup for my little DVD player.

I have an Emmerson VCR that doesnt work (sound is out - it goes BRRRRR real loud).

I can hook the DVD player up to the VCR, and the VCR to the TV.

I can get *some* DVDs to work but most just flip or dont play.

Am I doing something wrong?

I want the setup in my computer room. I just moved it all in here. Its useless except for DVDs because I dont get TV reception very well.

Are my DVDs bad, did I set something up wrong, or what? I dont know why some wont work.

I have a Magnavox Tv/VCR/DVD in my living room and I think all of my DVDs will work in it. The ones Ive played do anyway, the ones that dont work on my setup in here.

I just don't get it.

What do you mean, the DVDs "flip"?

I remember reading in my manual for my DVD player that many DVDs will not play when the hook-up is through a VCR. I don't know why, but it specifically said to hook the DVD player directly to the TV and not route through a VCR.

Sorry I can't help you more.
