Yah, maybe for a pet. But this kid has to live with this for the rest of his life. No offense, but... this kid is probably going to wind up getting picked on alot in his life, with a name like that... "Version 2.0" they may as well have tied an anchor to his neck and dropped him off a pier after his birth. That would have been more merciful.BAchristian said:heh...I thought it was kinda coo...

That comment was said tongue in cheek.Matrona said:![]()

Nothing, not even having a stupid joke for a name, is as bad as murdering a baby.
Your perogative.Matrona said:I know that, and I stand by what I said before.
If I want to make an off-colored comment in an off-colored thread, I'll do so.Matrona said:Please don't joke about murdering children.
Yeah dude...you're right. It was pretty lame.nyj said:Yah, maybe for a pet. But this kid has to live with this for the rest of his life. Even if what you say is deeply and personally offensive and tasteless?nyj said:If I want to make an off-colored comment in an off-colored thread, I'll do so.

You don't have to read it, right?Matrona said:Even if what you say is deeply and personally offensive and tasteless?![]()
To insinuate that I would treat infants as objects is patently absurd.Matrona said:What you said might seem harmless enough to you, but to me it smacks of the objectification of young children. Treating them as objects instead of people.

I know she didn't, and I never said that either. She said my comments objectified infants, thereby treating them as objects and not human. I say that that is absurd.AudreyWhite said:She didn't accuse you of treating infants badly.
The subject is so preposterous as to clearly dispel any notion that I would actually find said practice acceptable. She said it was tasteless to use infant-abuse as a source of humor.
Good for you. However, when I read these objections, a phrase keeps coming to mind for me... it goes like this: I don't care.I must admit that I agree.
There was never anything misunderstood. It always made sense.Make more sense?
JillLars said:At least its just the end of his name, you'd be surprised how many kids there are out there named "Tequila" or even "ESPN" (named after the tv network, but pronounced "ehspen")
JillLars said:I agree that Espen is a very nice sounding name, its just a little weird that its "ESPN"
There's also a lot of kids out there named "Skyye" like the vodka (I might be spelling that wrong.)
