CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

For humanity male/female are distinctive aspects of our humanness, specifically related to our sex organs and reproductive capacity. Neither God nor angels are so sexually distinguished.
Apparent masculine characteristics must be taken within a) communication relevant to our humanity which includes cultural contexts. Ancient society was largely patriarchal. and b) God accommodates to our limited capacities and thus imagery is often used to convey something about God to us. God as a pillar of fire, a wheel with eyes around its circumference are examples as well as the many we are most familiar with - shepherd, king, etc. God is the woman who lost a coin in one story. We must not read them as literal biological reality.
Our resurrected bodies will retain who we are (humanity was created to consist of male and female) radically transformed and amplified in many ways, but always distinctively human. That is what Jesus being the last Adam refers to, humanity fully restored to its essential humanness.

Oh this is definitely a different view, a spiritual one at that! Thank you so much, this is making much more sense now - and I've struggled with this for years! I can usually see the symbols God uses, but this one I just couldn't at all, until now. Now the puzzle pieces fit together.

Apparently Wisdom is Female Spirit.... 
Proverbs 4:4-9 (NIV)
4 Then he taught me, and he said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live.
5 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them.
6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.
7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
8 Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
9 She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.”
Book of Wisdom 7:7-1
7 Therefore I prayed, and prudence was given me; I pleaded and the spirit of Wisdom came to me.
8 I preferred her to scepter and throne, And deemed riches nothing in comparison with her,GOD’S GIFT OF WISDOM*
Book of Sirach 1:1-10
1 All wisdom is from the Lord and remains with him forever.
2 The sands of the sea, the drops of rain, the days of eternity—who can count them?
3 Heaven’s height, earth’s extent, the abyss and wisdom—who can explore them?
4 Before all other things wisdom was created; and prudent understanding, from eternity.
6 The root of wisdom—to whom has it been revealed? Her subtleties—who knows them.
8 There is but one, wise and truly awesome, seated upon his throne—the Lord.
9 It is he who created her, saw her and measured her, Poured her forth upon all his works,
10 upon every living thing according to his bounty, lavished her upon those who love him.
Book of Enoch 42 (R.H.Charles)
The Dwelling-places of Wisdom and of Unrighteousness.
1 Wisdom found no place where she might dwell; Then a dwelling-place was assigned her in the heavens.
2 Wisdom went forth to make her dwelling among the children of men, And found no dwelling-place: Wisdom returned to her place, And took her seat among the angels.
3 And unrighteousness went forth from her chambers: Whom she sought not she found, And dwelt with them, As rain in a desert And dew on a thirsty land.
Looks like Unrighteousness might be female as well...
