The Emerson poll is an outlier. Other recent polls show a slim plurality of Americans in favor of impeachment.

Do Americans Support Impeaching Trump?

Also, Trump's average favorability number is around 43%, while his unfavorable number is around 53% ...

I see you've got the more comprehensive and representative polling site. :)

It should be interesting in another few days once people have had time to digest what happened yesterday, and then get polled, to see the real picture updated.

What he did makes perfect sense as a businessman. And that's what he is; a businessman sitting in the Oval Office.

So why should anyone be surprised? They were tired of "Politics as usual" so they traded it for "Business as usual".

The polls show (1) that Trump's core group is holding steady and (2) not NEARLY ENOUGH voters are switching to him.

In fact, one polls shows that 30% could change their minds, and most of these appear to be on the Trump side.

Very true. But it doesn't make it legal or proper. The country is not a business.

So why should anyone be surprised? They were tired of "Politics as usual" so they traded it for "Business as usual".
I don't know that anyone is surprised by Trump's actions. Most of the surprise I see comes from Democrats being surprised at the lengths Trump's supporters are willing to go to defend him.

Why did you insult all the hardworking honest business people in America?
